    Imagine you had the power where you COULD look at everyone's private messages. You don't need to necessarily use this power, but would you use it? Would it be going too far, in comparison for those who in the past have opted to look at hidden forums if they were available to them?

    If you were to look through others PMs, what purpose would that be for? To get dirt on your friends? Just curiousity maybe? Share whether you think it's morally right either way. :)
     
    I wouldnt. I dont think its right to look at people's private messages. It isnt my business. I wouldnt use this ability.
     
    I'd probably use it to look through older members PMs. Hopefully they saved them. But I hear about the glory days about when PC only had PMs for contact. I'd like to read some lol. PC got VMs a month or two after I joined, so I didn't really get that experience. I'd only do this with friends of mine, though. I wouldn't just look at anyone's PMs. Friends of mine that joined ~long ago~ lol. See if they have anything.

    Also, if anyone went through my PMs, you'd just find a mess of PMs from members that I need to delete. ~_~
     
    The thought of being able to see PMs seriously creeps me out. ;~; Those are private messages! /stating the obvious

    Seriously though, I wouldn't use it even if I had the power. Although I'm a curious person, I'm not that curious. Unless the member posts the PM, it's supposed to be just between the participants. I wouldn't go looking through stranger's mail or e-mails either.
     
    I just can't see myself interested, not to mention PM's are supposed to be Private in nature as why they are called Private Messages. Only reason I would look into it is if there was a dispute between members in PM's otherwise I couldn't care less.
     
    If I could do it with no repercussions, I probably would at least a bit tbh. Although I would also go through and save the PMs I wanted to keep private on a text file and delete them beforehand xD But really, it's probably not morally the right thing to do but there are people I wonder about and feel like I would know them better through what they say in private than what they do in public, lol.
     
    Hell yes! I am an incredibly curious person and the idea of being able to actually know what's going on with them in private greatly appeals to me. I honestly don't see how people could be saintly enough resist the temptation.

    That said, I would still respect their right to privacy. While I would go looking through them myself until I found everything I ever wanted to know, I would not share the information with other people, nor would I use any information to blackmail the people. The fact that it's private means that their secrets would die with me. I'm a curious person, I like to know everything, but I'm not in it for the gossip.
     
    Yes, I would do it, but out of curiosity only. And not every message there is, I would filter certain keywords (like 'cupcakes') and search for specific PMs.

    I don't believe anyone who is saying they wouldn't. I'm kind of side-eyeing them like I side-eye people who say they wouldn't rush to a forum that randomly appeared that they wouldn't normally have access to. Even if I would get banned or fired for doing it, I'd still probably do it. Then again, I don't really take the internet as seriously as others do.
     
    I wouldn't look through other people's PMs if I had that ability because doing so would be rather nosy of me.
     
    Not gonna lie, I am a nosy human being and totally would. People who say they wouldn't: YOU KNOW YOU WANNA. Come on. ;D But, like Shining Raichu said, I wouldn't go around and tell everyone what I read. There's still a level of privacy that I certainly wouldn't invade.

    Uhh....no. That would totally be disrespectful on my part, as well as to my friends. The are called PRIVATE messages, why would I look at them?

    Even though I am quite nosy, I might be a wee bit curious and look at maybe one or---OH WHAT THE HAY AM I SAYING? The answer is no.

    I clean my PM inbox every three days, so it's empty almost every day. :P
     
    Oh yeah. I'd willingly read someone elses' PMs, especially if any of them mentioned me.

    BUT I wouldn't divulge what I read. For now, I hope I never get that ability...because yeah, it would probably cause rifts...and private messages ARE private ya know.
     
    I would feel so horribly guilty if I did D: I would want to out of curiosity, but my dang conscience would get to me.

    The only way I would is if my friends okayed it, and I would only being using it to read our old PM conversations since I deleted all of my old ones and I'd love to see the old conversations again :')

    Well, I've had something similar open up to me in the past, and I will say that ignorance really is bliss.

    I haven't told anyone what I learned, and no one has changed how they treat me even though they apparently don't like me, so there really is no point in knowing that. It's just making me sad and that's it.

    So yeah, I wouldn't bother.

    Yeah of course I would look, I wouldn't tell people what they said (Unless it was mean stuff about them because I don't think it's fair for them not to know). It's silly to say you wouldn't, every human being has a natural curiosity to know things they don't know, and being able to view peoples private messages would satisfy that curiosity somewhat.
     
    This power totally defeats the purpose of private messages, but it'd be neato to have the power. I doubt I would use it as often considering how much I care about others gossiping about Logiedan. Although it would be quite creepy if there was some status on profiles like "Viewing Private Messages Of: <user>" XD

    I know its not moral.... but it doesnt mean id be able to keep myself from abusing the POWAAAAAA!
