They're equal, If you can't decide and flipping a coin isn't a good enough idea to decide by, just research the version exclusives.

I went with Pearl because I did a lot of research, and found Palkia, the Pearl-only Legend, to better suit me, and the fact that I liked Version Exclusives better (Like you can get Bagon in the wild under special circumstances). If you have a Gen III game, you can just Import the version exclusives you don't have from that game. Wi-Fi Corner helps with the same thing as well.

Either research or flip a coin to decide between the two.

well here is the thing.. i dont know anything bout the NEW ass pokemon soo pretty much like.. yeah im old school lol.. soo i need desperate help

I don't understand what you're asking help for...? How to CATCH the Pokemon? Or which ones are good for training?

    i picked pearl

i'm a big red blue and yellow lover too

    but i did LOVE gold

but yeah go with pearl and enjoy =D

you'll learn about the new pokes as you play

    trust me

Well then, there's a lot of new pokemons there, cool and ugly. But mind you, Sinnoh's a big and confusing place. But you'll get used to it.

If you want info's about the new pokemons, go to Serebii.net

Desperate help? Dude, this is Pokemon! Get out there and discover them yourself!
Absolutely right, that's how I manage my game. I just discovered Serebii.net 2 weeks ago.

all i know is i was sitting there one day wantin to play and saw this thing online and it showed me a FIRE MONKEY? who evolves into a " Fire/Fighting" Ape.. thats soo bad ass... ive always wanted to use a Muy Thai fighting monkey who SPITs fire

Just discover them yourself silly. Just how the first person playing Pokemon does. But just slowly.

yeah but its confusing... soo id rather stick to pokemon i know to start with.. all i kno is that i want the muy thai fire monkey

uu kno what i like ur advice but imma use the monkey bro.. he just looks bad ass and i bet he is bad ass n the game soo

If this is your first time playing D&P, then you will want Chimchar for a starter and catch Starly and Shinx.

Dude, it's Pokemon, a game that was made for ten year olds (Don't deny it. It was.).

If you still need help, take a look at the Serebii Pokedex.

But really, you should be able to learn everything as you go along. That's what I did.

EDIT: Yeah, go with the fire monkey as the starter. He's definitely the strongest, and there's a distinct lack of fire types in the game.

Personally I like Pearl, and it all really comes down to personal preference. Same with the starter pokemon! I personally liked Piplup and his evolutions. Chimchar was my second favorite pokemon, and he's the best one to start with because the first two gyms are steel and grass if i remember correctly. Good luck with your decision. Which ever pokemon you chose, make sure you take care of it!
