"Is it really that hard to tell when someone's joking..." - Many people to me.

Yes, it is. And let me explain why. First of all, I'm autistic, and can't differentiate body language, and if you think I'm using this an excuse, I'm really not. It's the truth. Online, it's even harder because I'm staring at text...do you really think I'm going to know if you're joking or not? Unless there's key pointers, I won't know. I don't know if that makes stupid, but being able to tell what's a joke online has always been hard for me. It's not something I'm fully capable of, and you've got to understand that... I'm not asking people to bend over backwards for me. No one should, ever, and I'm not asking people to try and indicate when they're joking, I just don't like how people are like "is it THAT hard to tell I'm joking?" because it is... this is the internet, I'm sorry.

THIS IS IN NO WAY DIRECTED AT ANYONE. IT JUST HAPPENS TO ME ALL THE TIME. PEOPLE ARE IN A JOKING MOOD WITH ME, THEY MAKE A JOKE, I DON'T KNOW THEY'RE JOKING, THEY HAVE TO TELL ME, AND I FEEL STUPID ABOUT IT. It's a cycle. I'm trying to get better at it, but it's really hard when I can't comprehend body language through text.
