Maybe a lack of (or reduced) waiting like the mods could be a perk for VIP 6?
Just a thought.
Just a thought.
Just because you can't donate doesn't mean no one else should get the perks :pI don't think Tier 6 needs any extra perks, considering I don't have to money to donate alone.
What about once every 15 days, and once the number of T6 members starts to go up, have it limited to once a month? It'd be a good way to start out.
That is, if staff are willing to let T6 members have HTML Usertitles.
I don't think the staff will be willing to part with an exclusive perk without putting up a good fight.
I said it before recently, but I would not fight at all... in fact, I'd fight to make it NOT just a staff perk lmao.
I'd prefer to just abolish that waiting time altogether, personally.
Though I don't see that happening since it's a way to combat spammers. I think there are plenty of other ways to reduce spam than to create an inconvenience to not just them, but to all the members. Like making new members fill out a captcha or something until they make it to 15 posts. Yes, it is pretty annoying when you have to deal with it, but I know I would prefer dealing with that for fifteen posts than a flood reduced time limit every single time I make a post.
Lowly Tier 3 here, but what exactly are the benefits of being Tier 6? I don't even see it on the donations thread thing. https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/25461
3-5 don't seem that different :I
And this is why we don't do them. That, and the fact that believe it or not, being a mod on PC takes a lot of work. So, the more we can offer to them the better. I don't think it's fair to offer them nothing extra. I'm keen on rewarding staff with as much exclusivity as we can muster without taking too much from supporters either. I'm aware that supporters are donating their hard earned money but... at the same time, nearly every staff member has also donated money. A few of us are 6 tier also, and when you donate that much, it's not really about the perks.I think HTML titles were considered in the past but considering it has to be done manually by the admins and some people love to change their theme (as well as their title) quite often, there would probably need to be limits. Like only once a month or something. :(

Really? I consider all the perks that staff already get more than enough compensation for what they do. Access to the staff forums, no flood control in VMs/PMs, larger PM box, blogs, (somewhat) direct say on how things are run... there are a lot of things that come with being staff and just because a lot of them are directly related to the job itself doesn't make them any less of perks to me. :s As someone who's always been in the "staff are just normal members with the tools to do an extra voluntary job" camp, I have to respectfully disagree that staff need exclusive perks as a reward. And this is why we don't do them. I wouldn't mind supporters getting less wait time between VM's, but I'd hate to see that abused. Believe it or not, you can crash the server by sending too many queries to the database, which can be done by posting to someone's VM wall. I'd need to look into it more, but that's probably one reason why everyone doesn't get it. Perhaps it would suit enough for tier 6 since they're rare enough.
As for HTML usertitles though, I would rather keep that to staff members. Those of you who haven't been a staff member, it's not all flowers and perfume, so I hope that you can appreciate that we would like to keep just some small things under staff exclusivity for the work they do. It might sound elitist, but it's really not, implore some humanity to understand where I'm coming from.
A community with many people and minimal ads. (Seriously, the ads are so discreet here, especially for members.) A $5 donation once is nice but it doesn't go very far at all. The problem with PC's donation system is that the community is made up of a lot of really young people. Many of them just can't donate at all and those who can often can't afford to donate a whole lot or regularly. So giving extra perks for a group that goes above and beyond and donates $100 (which is a significant amount even as a one-time donation) is fine by me. I agree that it would be weird to add very visible perks for a tier that isn't even advertised, though. But I think it deserves a place on the list, maybe not as an official tier but as a message saying "we'll be so thankful if you donate >$100 that we'll give you even more perks" or something. It's never made sense to me that it's always been hidden away.I'll also point out here that T6 isn't really meant to be a properly advertised tier at all. We don't advertise it because it's kinda unreasonable to ask people to donate $100 to a Pokémon forum for a few very minor perks. If they choose to do so then that's good for them and we're thankful for that, but to make a point of it seems really kinda greedy to me. $5 is more than enough in donations and really, $25 is more than we should expect from anyone and to advertise for higher than that is just... yeah. I wouldn't want people feeling like they're missing out on features because they don't have that sort of money. I also kinda hate the idea of a PC more influenced by money than it is right now. We're a community, not a shop, and not a business.
