If Gyarados and Milotic were to battle, who would win?

I rather say that Milotic is more preferable in appearance. Gyarados might pull out something clever, hopefully, because it's probably faster than Milotic. If not, then it's screwed. If Miltoic can really use Thunderbolt, there's a slim chance that Gyarados can win. =(
 
Or maybe Milotic will cry for fear before Gyarados' Intimidate and Scary Face! BWAHAHAHAHA!

For one, Milotic can't even learn Thunderbolt. It has to use HP Electric. Second of all, if Milotic is in OU, where Gyarados resides, it will be running Ice Beam over HP Electric because of Salamence and Latias being more pressing threats to deal with than Gyarados.

So a Hypnosis/Recover/Surf/Ice Beam set will lose to Gyara while it just builds up Dragon Dances until it can OHKO Milotic with Stone Edge or something.

It all depends on Ice Beam vs. HP Electric. Ice Beam means Gyarados wins; HP Electric gives Milotic the edge.
 
It would go something like this (we will eliminate genders for all practical reasons, or if you want to play the attract card, Gyarados is holding a lum berry causing it to be moot point)

Trainer 1 sent out Gyarados!

Trainer 2 sent out Milotic!

Gyarados used Dragon Dance!
Gyarados's Speed rose!
Gyarados's Attack rose!
Milotic used Reflect!
A barrier was formed!


Gyarados used Dragon Dance!
Gyarados's Speed rose!
Gyarados's Attack rose!
Milotic used Light Screen!
A barrier was formed!

-for sake of typing Gyarados repeats for 2 more turns-
Milotic used Ice Beam! x 2
Milotic's reflect faded.

Gyardos used Earthquake!
Milotic fainted.

Also: Milotic can't learn T-Bolt.
 
depends on the trainer. lik in sports u can have good players but if u dont have a good coach callin plays ull lose

But seriously, I'd think that Gyarados would win. Gyarados can't fall in love, he's always too angry!

gyarados ftw, milotic cant learn thunderbolt but gyrados can (either thunderbolt or thunder, cant remember?)
 
Gyarados has crap Sp.Atk to even use Thunder, Milotic will definitely win, it and Gyarados have the same 81 speed and Milotic lacks the x4 weakness to Electric (a nice choice specs-HP Electric coupled with a Timid nature will fry that tempura out of the water ) Besides, Beautiful Eel > Angry Tempura

Bulky Gyara could win, with Thunder Fang @ Wacan Berry. DD First turn, resist HP Electric, outspeed it and T-Fang it next turn for the KO.
 
It depends on what they're running. Milotic can be designed to counter Gyarados, so it would then win. But the important thing to consider is the fact that Gyarados can set-up and kill Milotic no matter what, if Miltoic isnt immediately present. So its an issue of turn balancing and trainer intelligence, not the Pokemon themselves.
 
Gyrados. It would use thunder wave, milotic would be immobilized, giving gyrados the advantage to use dragon dance and 1hko it. Or, if they are the same gender, just use earthquake over and over until milotic is DEAD, and milotic will be killed faster if gyrados is holding a choice band. Epic fail for milotic. Milotic's role in compeditive battling is a speacial wall or annoyer, not a physical wall.
 
Fully EV'ed, IV'ed Modest Milotic has a very, very slim hope of OHKOing neutral natured fully IV'ed and un-EV'ed Gyarados with full powered HP Electric. It's a guaranteed OHKO with Magnet.

On the other hand, fully EV'ed, IV'ed Adamant Banded Gyarados has no chance of OHKOing neutral natured, fully IV'ed and un-EV'ed Milotic with Thunder Fang. It needs SR to OHKO, and even then, it's not guaranteed. The only guaranteed OHKO is a CH.

It depends on the speed tie.

If Gyara is facing a Magnet Milo that goes first, it's dead. End of discussion.

If LO Gyara managed to DD first in the face of a Milo with no power boosts, Gyara is very likely to win.

Then again, if SR is there to turn the tables...
