If Max Were to Ever Become a Trainer...

He won't, obviously, since time doesn't pass in the anime. Max is still seven. Anyway, if Max were to finally become a Pokemon trainer, what kind of trainer do you believe he would be? (Fanfics of him being a coordinator aside.) Do you really think he'd go back for that Ralts? If I'm being honest, the only way Max will ever be a trainer is if they switch protagonists or something.

Well, technically time DOES pass (Leagues are annual, and besides which, they did show the Bullet Train being operational at the end of Best Wishes, when last we heard of it back in Johto, it wasn't even due to be operational until the next Tuesday of the succeeding year), but yeah, thanks to the writers weird insistence on keeping Ash 10, there's zero chance of Max EVER becoming a trainer. He probably has a far worse turnout than even Misty regarding what happened to him when he left, in some respects. Most other traveling companions either pursued their goals when they left, or at the very least changed their goals of their own free will, as Misty got neither.

So far as that Ralts, if he ever becomes a trainer, he probably will, assuming another trainer doesn't beat him to it.

Honestle, I think that Max won't return because of the negative feedbacks in regards to him. But we might see him one day as some cameo. But I suppose that Max would be a Clemont rehash. I can imagine him with Gallade and Altaria

The kind of trainer who piss and annoy the new Protagonist by various insult ! he will be the one to mention Ash to new protagonist as Ash's promise with him happen to be his driving force.

From the point , Maybe it would be better if Ash is a relationship with May when Max become a trainer.

I don'T see Max as a coordinator. I think he would become a professor! Well, we have to wait for him to grow up! :p But I see him as a future Professor :3

And I hope he'll find his Ralts again. Not sure it's gonna be his starter tho. His starter might be a Pokemon Ash gave him, who knows?

If Ralts will not be Max's starter, then I am sure Treecko will be. He mentioned few times how he likes that Pokémon. And I am pretty sure he'll return for Ralts, because it was a promise and if he couldn't make HIS OWN promise, he shouldn't expect Ash to keep his promise. I may be wrong, but that is the impression I've got from anime about how Max thinks.
As for what kind of trainer he'll be, well, I picture him as a knowledgeable trainer, who, even at the beginning of his journey, may be a mentor to others. Quite the opposite of what Ash actually was at the beginning ;) I can actually picture him to travel with Coordinator who idolizes his sister. Maybe even a boy who has crush on her. Now, that would be fun.
As for Ralts, I hope for it to eventually be Gallade. I know there are many who thinks his Ralts was female, but I personally don't see Max with Gardevoir. Gallade fits him more. And it would be cool if he would be able to Mega evolve it. Now, that would definitely fits the picture I have about Max as a trainer. Plus, it should not be his only Mega evolution, his eventual Sceptile should also be able of Mega evolution.

Unfortunately, you are right we will never see this in anime. But now, I actually got a notion to write a fanfic like this :3c
