If Pokemon existed, would you let your 10 year old go on a Pokemon adventure?

Personally, I really wouldn't by themselves, but I'd probably let them own Pokemon and train them alongside myself so, when I feel they are old enough, they'll have a good headstart in the Pokemon adventuring ways.
 
If Pokémon were real, there would probably be enough to do around town, like tournaments, grinding spots and stuff. I wouldn't let my child leave at least until he has a fully evolved Pokémon that's also able to carry him out of trouble.
And I'd give him a cell phone and call him several times a day. And not just to tell him I bought him something.

In reality, it would be far too unsafe and dangerous so my answer would also be 'no'.

However, keep in mind that Pokémon is an imaginary world created for the entertainment of others. There's no way that Pokémon trainers - if they were theoretically real - would be ten years old due to several defining factors, such as: knowledge, strength, maturity and willingness. If they went on to, lets say, the Poké-university and studied the anatomy of different Pokémon and posses the correct knowledge to be able to handle themselves in the wild; then I wouldn't have any problem with my child going on a Pokémon journey.
 
Not until they were 13 or older. My little sister who is about 12 would barely stand a chance on her own.
I will agree, the Pokémon world is a much more moral and safe place than here in the real world.
Of course, there's the exception of evil organizations (e.g. Team Rocket).
 
If the world was still as bad as it is right now then I wouldn't let my 10 year-old go out alone, even if he does have a pokemon with him. The world is too evil to let 10 year-olds start journies.
 
Of course not. After highschool, at the age of 18-19 if they wanted to go out and be a pokemon trainer as a career, they could. Ten year olds, even most teenagers, would be totally incapable of adventuring across the country in the wilderness, even going to other continents. Never MIND being able to protect themself adequately and intelligently.

So, no. When they got to the age at when they COULD leave home and do whatever, and they still wanted to, then yeah, go for it.
 
10...no way. Unlike the Pokemon world and their petty Team Rocket, Galaxy, Aqua and Magma gangs, the real world has terrorists, narco-traffickers and criminals that will try to kill you and take your pokemon and sell them for money.

I'd go along with my child and I would bring not only my trusty strong Blastoise, Machamp, Ariados, Houndoom, Ampharos and Pidgeot with me to help my kid train. I would also bring an assault rifle and a couple of pistols with me, just in case.

You gotta have both strong pokemon and personal weapons.
 
Short answer NO

Long answer NO WAY. Going off at 10, no worldly experience, battling Bikers and creepy old men hiding in caves... hm no, I don't approve.
 
If we were in the Pokemon world, yes.
If Pokemon were in our world, hell no.
 
Also, I wouldn't want some psychic gym leader to do weird **** to my kid for losing a battle.

Remember in the anime when Sabrina shrunk Ash and his friends into their toy-town and her little sister nearly killed them? Or during the re-match when Sabrina made Brock and Misty into dolls? Now that's arguably worse than being captured by Marxist guerrillas in the Jungles while trying to catch a Tropius.
 
If this were in the Pokemon World, then yeah, sure. If it was here, though, I would never let my child go out with Pokemon I don't care if he has a Charizard okay, yeah, maybe a Charizard I don't care if he has a Pidgey with him, that's not going to save him from the ruthless terrorists that want to steal his Pokemon at any costs who have Koffing. Maybe when he was older like 12 or 13, but 10 is a little too soon.

since all the Pokemon stuff is make up there is no problem for them :)
 
I'll let my child go on an adventure once he or she finishes Pokemon School. By then, he or she should know how to prepare themselves for the wild. Before my child does leave for this adventure, I'm so going to stock his or her bag with as many potions, antidotes, repel, and paralyze heals as I can possible.

Hopefully, he or she visits me soon. I expect a call three times a day, because I know how hard and long it is to find a town. I'm so going to win the Worst Father of the Year award for this...
 
yes! well no! like 15 i would say wold be a good age and i wouldn't let their first pokemon be a weak level 5 :(. i would give them a lv 50 arcanine and lv 5o nintales to start off :D
 
Of course I would. With all of the rampaging Pokemon going around and tons of places where you could get lost and starve to death, I'd let my kid go any day. Running away from a flock of rampaging Spearow builds character and teaches kids, "Life isn't an adorable cupcake with pink frosting and adorable sprinkles and a pretty candle on top, life is the little brother waiting for you to turn around so he can smash it and smear the remains all over your face."

Then again... where's my kid gonna sleep???
 
I'd let my 10 year old go on a Pokemon adventure if Pokemon existed, but only if they have good grades.
 
Hell yeah, and I would go with them to begin with to make sure they were okay, and found some nice companions along the way- people and pokemon. Then we would probably go our seperate ways, but keep in touch daily via Pokénav, while I go and study Water Pokémon all around the world.
