How about we create a new one?
Well, like most people say, it would be pretty catastrophic, if anybody COULD train Pokemon that hard. A lot of fully evolved Pokemon today could be forces of nature, quite literally using Earthquake and Surf. However, if somehow peace was pulled together, this would be my team: Tododile (Hatched), Salamence, Heliolisk, Breloom and Espeon. My team, following in my father's footsteps, would travel the world, finding new Pokemon and possibly legendaries.
What would be your team?

Well, if there was peace and if the rules applied in the games (like you can't kill pokemon and only faint, travel the world collecting badges, ect. ect.) then I would travel to all the different regions; catch, breed, train all the pokemon I get and become a researcher. My main partner would be my Crobat (got from my parents when I was 10 and was a newly hath zubat :p ).

My on-hand team at my research facility would be (teams may vary from a day to day basis.): Blaziken (helps keep peace with all other Pokémon), Crobat (main partner and helps me with everything), Blissy or chansey (for Newley hatched Pokémon and healing pokémon, phantump/Trevenant.

Going through the regions though, I always construct a new team. Camping out, meeting new Pokémon and friends, and enjoying every moment I get to spend with Pokémon an people haring experience and/or memories.

If it was a rule, then battles could only commence in battle arenas. A public park there could be a few. I would bring helioptile, houndoom, Leafeon, and some more pokemon. I'll add more later.

Chimchar also maybe. Nidoking, Azumarill, and a flying type probably. I don't really know.

Probably me too. I'd love to become a researcher (like Oak) or just a Pokémon watcher (like Tracy). I might also have a team on hand (just in case) consisting of Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion ('cos it's my fav), Butterfree (it can save me from Pokémon that are rampaging), Castform ("Oh no! That poor baby Charmander is alone, and it's beginning to rain! Castform, use Hail! Sunny Day!"), Ditto (for studying closely), and two Farfetch'd, one male and one female (they are endangered. I can stop 'em from being extinct). My bag would just contain a camera, sketchpad, pencils, 2-3 extra Pokéballs, audio recorder and snacks. I could camp out in bushes and watch Pokémon in the wild.

In the right hands, pokemon would be a great stage for not just entertainment, but teaching. I would love to travel and have the company of pokemon that trust me as much as I do them having my back

If the rules of the games are in effect, it would be interesting, allowing you to travel, interact with your pokemon, explore different areas, fly to any place you want, earning money from battles, good nights at the pokemon center, etc.

I would get an Azumarill (In case dragon types go on a killing spree), an Alakazam or a Kadabra with Teleport and Knock Off (To teleport and knock off mega stones).

I really don't know about this role play text but I would have Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Ditto, Charizard, Gyarados and a constant hunt for Mewtwo.

Nidoqueen came first as it was my first, card form. The first card I got was before the game and it was Nidoran(F).
Nidoking came second, shortly after making friends with Nidoran(F) I suppose.
Ditto third, my favorite Pokémon, and Shiny. Why? Because I can. ;)
Charizard, a female, rare and every trainer needs a Flyer.
Gyarados because I'm not swimming. Surf all day.

Mewtwo because who wouldn't love to meet Mewtwo and get on good terms with it? The most powerful Pokémon to ever live.

I don't think so. Generally speaking, a Pokémon's intrinsic nature is to battle; the way that they grow and become stronger is through cooperation and training with humans, and battling with other Pokémon. And typically, many Pokémon are of human-grade or greater intelligence and emotionality: Pokémon aren't forced to fight, they do it of their own free will, ergo, Pokémon battles are not cruel or inhumane, they're the simply non-human sporting events, in a sense. And we certainly haven't made sumo, or soccer, or boxing illegal, have we?

I'd probably be a bit of a Pokémon biologist, breeder, maybe even zookeeper. It would definitely play to my strong suits, haha :pink_giggle:

I'd probably have as many Pokémon as I could, though if I had to have just six as my immediate team, I'd probably go for Gastly, Alakazam, Espeon, Cyndaquil, Lapras, and Tropius.

Hmm, well if you put it that way, I'm not sure who to put on my team. Also if you had to give money for losing after battling, well that would just be. no.
I bet people would probably abuse their Pokemon, or use it against other people.

Hmm that's a tough call.. I'd spend most of my days surfing around the globe with Lapras or flying around with Charizard. As for a battle team.. lemme think..

Charizard: It's strong, reliable, possibly the king of the skies (provided I'm not up against legendaries).
Ninetales: Fire specialist, drought +Solarbeam = headache and I could always use Will 'o' wisp to make it easy on me. Couple that with Hypnosis and you have a pretty versatile team already.
Lapras: as long as I can inflict a status change that prevents the opposing poke to switch, I'll be able to give it a hard time with Perish song. Plus Lapras can tank a lot of attacks.
Jolteon: Fast and swift. It may not be the strongest out there, but his speed can make up for his lack of tankability.
Umbreon: Mean look can help me with Perish song. It may be a dirty strategy but I'm out in the wild. Plus Umbreon and/or Espeon can be good baton passers. They're good teamplayers.
Dragonite or Scizor: Idk which one to choose, but I believe either would be fine.

On the other hand, I could totally drop all the strategy and make a team consisting of slowpokes, magikarps and psyducks just for the LOLs.

I don't think our own world and the people within it make a good fit for real Pokemon, but that doesn't mean I can't keep wishing for it!

If there was some way to keep peace in order though, I'd be happy to have just 2 or 3 Pokemon (including an Azumarill and Butterfree), even just as companions rather than competitive Pokemon. Sure, I'd try our hand at battling, but I'd have no desire to go off and become a Pokemon master or anything.

Most people here are saying how there should be rules about battling with pokemon and blahblahbla but that just won't change the fact that there will always be people who will abuse the power of pokemon. That just won't be good in our world.

However, if pokemon were real then I would not battle competitively or maybe I might. Being a pokemon professor and having tons of pokemon would appeal to me though.

I think I would have gone to college and studied to become a researcher, pretty much like I am now. But instead of "regular" science, I might have wanted to study the powers and energies of pokémon. I'd probably made sure to get a pokémon pet as soon as I turned old enough (10?) and that would be Sneasel. I'd keep it with me as my bestie at all times, and probably evolve it to Weavile if I got the change.

I'd also like to have some more pokémon of different types, to help in my studies and for my own interest. Training and battling would likely be mostly a hobby and I wouldn't go traveling and battling much because I'm lazy hahaha.
