If you could change anything about this section...

Well in my idea/s (which don't happen to be that good often) would be a post challenge of the person with the most posts that actually count in any given day, not an actually award but to increase activity with newer/older threads and newer/older members. Or something like the person who cam create a successful thread that actually runs out of space (not so good but that's just whar comes to mind)
As a method of getting more activity/posting in the forums, I find a contest like that absolutely unnecessary, honestly. Cafe is actually the most active thread (recently anyway) in regards to posting, a couple hundred above the runner up. This place definitely doesn't need a hike in activity, as it gets more than enough of that. Your idea simply as a contest doesn't really appeal to me either, honestly, and that's for similar reasons I stated before. I don't like the whole premise of a contest in Cafe to be based on "posting", because we already get more than enough of it, and any more will run the creative buzz in posts thin, and inadvertently cause more spammy posting to occur, especially in a hecka active place like this. Perhaps I'm overthinking it, but I stand by "posting" as the premise of a thread here in Cafe being a terrible idea.

If I'm completely honest, I don't really see any sort of contest working here. Cafe's meant to be a place to socialize about things irrelevant, things that are obscure and random. A contest would have to mirror the forum in some way, and aside from completely technical things, such as amount of posts or amount of threads, you can't really base anything off conversation. Well, perhaps not nothing, but not much. The only thing I can think of that we could perhaps work into a contest somehow would be something utilizing voice chats. There was also the idea of "PC's Got Talent", which would probably have been held in Cafe (although it'd make more sense to be held in Community announcements; it won't/wouldn't because PCGT is a brand new idea, which could very easily flop). Reason it'd be held here is cause it's a mix of almost every thing existent elsewhere in the forum (Writing, art, etc). Since it's so broad, it would fit here, but even then, I don't like it. Feel free to pitch contest ideas if you guys have, but I don't know if you'll be able to come up with anything that could be hosted here in Cafe.

And this isn't something I feel should be changed, but one thing I am liking this part of the forum for much more is the fact that people are getting crafty with names for their threads. "NINJA STAR CHIPS" instead of "Doritos", "The early bird gets the worm" instead of "How late do you sleep", and other thread titles like that. I like getting original with that. xP

Not a fan of how people get overly creative with thread titles to where I actually go to the thread and it's not what the title made it out to be. That's the only thing that bothers me. I mean, it's great to be creative with thread titles and all, but not to where it misleads people into thinking the thread is a completely different subject than what it really is.

Everlark nailed it on the head, really. People actually ARE creative with thread titles, often to the point where people will have to click on the thread and actually see what the hell the thread's supposed to be about. I can see why it's frustrating, and in many ways a turn off, but it isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just that when people get a little too creative, their title tends to deviate a lot further from the topic than it's supposed to. The Doritos thread is an example of that. Ninja star chips itself has almost nothing to do with Doritos itself, at face value (unless there's a commercial or something that I missed, I dunno). The action of going ahead and clicking on the thread and finding out what the thread's about, while relatively little in work, can come off as extremely annoying. I'm not saying don't be creative, but be creative in reason. :D

People should talk about donuts more; besides that everything is great! This is one of my favorite sections of the forum and not a thing should be changed about it (besides the donuts).

I get done reading Dakota's post thinking, "Oh yeah, well said. Awesome post." Then I scroll and...

WHAT

Now I'm hungry. That's another problem with this forum. Food gets mentioned a good bit and it makes me hungry when it's not convenient for me and no one brings me snacks. New CCC rule: bring Syd snacks.

I actually made quite a few errors with word usage in that post, haha (I'm jittery as hell, and supposed to be writing my paper, don't hate). But in regards to food and weather. Andy and I cannot control that, sadly. True, it would be possibly to create a rule where people who attempt to converse about weather and/or food would get punished for it, but the idea of such a rule is absolutely ridiculous, no matter how you paint the picture. Yes, it can be annoying to see a topic like food be as common as it is, but the presence of said topic is suggested by the members. Food and weather are simple topics that everyone can relate to and have some sort of an opinion on, compared to some of the other stuff I've seen get mentioned in the DCC, such as technology or music. That fact overrides the "dull" factor, and for that reason it's something that pops up as often as it does. I could tell you guys to become more cultured and try new things, but that would be mean of me. All I can really do that doesn't make me sound like a jerk is ask people to be a little more creative and expand their horizons in regards to discussion. That being said, the fact that weather and food are topics everyone can relate to will always be just that, something everyone can relate to, and for that reason, it'll always exist as a fallback topic. Sad? Perhaps. Trust me, I try to avoid instigating such discussion. I know Andy does so as well; dude hates weather a lot, haha. But the moderators can only control so much. /2cents

And Syd, I'll make that a rule only if I get 50%.

I'd bring either PotW or PotM back unless they died from activity. Idk I just saw them gone myself. Other than that, nothing much. I like how CCC is making progress towards being less "post&go" and more creative with the threads so I'd just keep this up.

Also we should make a DCC dedicated to weather and food, y/y? Jk haha. Good job guys.

PotM is pretty much defunct at this point for two reasons. One is because there was indeed a lack of activity regarding it, but more importantly, PotM was taken down because it didn't really fit the Café mold. The whole concept of 'polls' in general was obsolete in the midst of the transition you mentioned, and after conversing with hstaff about it, we decided to kick the 'poll' affiliation completely.
