I really don't care why you started. But I have some questions I wanna ask you.

    1. I hear people say "I need a cigarette" a lot during the day. Why? What makes you feel like you need a cigarette?
    2. When you smoke, what do you actually feel?
    3. Why do you smoke?

Okay that's all. Just genuinely interested in your answers to these questions.

When I was younger in high school I would smoke cigarettes regularly. It would start as 1 or 2 a day, then I would build up to a few but nothing serious. I've cut back, I don't even know why I did it. Personally, I like cigars more.

1.) You need a cigarette because of the stress. Eventually, the cigarette just makes you feel good and like a feeling of relaxed. If you smoke enough, the more you smoke the more you want. I personally liked the taste of certain ones and would smoke multiple cigarettes and occasionally cigars.

2.) You feel good. At first you'll feel a buzzed, mello feeling. Eventually, you won't feel anything but you're still dependent.

3.) I smoke because I like it. Not to feel cool or because everyone else does it, I do it because I like it. I don't do it as nearly as much as I used to, but I still do it because I like it.

Why not drink instead? Or smoke weed?

I do mostly at parties but it's still not healthy. It's been debated but tbh that's not any healthier than smoking tobacco.

When I was 12, I would smoke frequently. My older friends influenced me. All I felt was harmful pathogens flowing in my lungs and nostrils, just nothing actually. I smoke without a reason and I realized that I was very naive before -_- I stopped smoking because I don't want to die at an early age. All I want to say is that Smoking is illogical and it is also an insignificant vice.

I wasn't suggesting that it was better. But the effects, from what you're describing to me, seem pretty much the same. So why do you go for a cigarette instead of a beer? That's what I was trying to really ask.

Smoking is a very social activity, a lot of us smoke when we see someone else doing it. Some people get physically ill when they skip smoking for too long.

For me, it's a mix of social and anxiety that makes me smoke. And driving.

    2. When you smoke, what do you actually feel?

It's calming. I smoke maybe once or twice per day, though moreso if I'm nervous about something or am having a bad day. I smoke cigars occasionally as well, but that's usually when my best friend and I are having a night in, drinking. Lately I've been having a hard time of it and have been smoking like six a day.

    3. Why do you smoke?

To deal with my anxiety, mostly. I have Asperger's and it's A) a way to help deal with stimming and B) like I said, anxiety. I can't afford medication for it. Plus, I like it. I actually really like the smell, it's just something I grew up with. And it's a nice repetitive, simple action. It's basically stimming.

    1. Because I will kill someone if I don't. I get angry very easily and cigarettes help calm me down. Oddly, I was like this before. Only before I would actually just perpetually be angry. But without having a cigarette I am 20x worse. I made a girl cry and quit once. I mean..no one liked her and she was fired. When my boss called me to tell me she quit her exact words were.."Steve, I have good news!!"

    1. Personally, I don't. Most days I don't even smoke anymore, but when I decide I want one it's just for a quick, mild elation

    2. Sometimes I feel nothing, sometimes I get really chilled and just want to relax and listen to music and do nothing else. I guess you could call it a very mild high.

    3. Because the health risks don't really concern me and I feel I should grant myself some guilty pleasures in life.

As for drinking, most smokers will smoke whilst drinking. You can also enjoy a cigarette any time of day, if you're drinking alcohol throughout the day there's more reason for concern. A cigarette gives you a different feel to alcohol also, and the effects are more instantaneous.

Smoking weed, again, it's a much more powerful high that you don't really want to have all the time. I suppose a cigarette is like a snack whereas a joint would be more like dinner.

I've been quit a year now. C: But I can still answer right?

    1. I smoked mostly out of boredom. I smoked on college breaks, work breaks because there was nothing else to do. So yeah, being bored made me need a cigarette.

    2. Smoking made me feel content. It made me feel happy and relaxed.

    3. I started smoking because I thought I was just so cool. It was an image thing at first. I continued to do it because I enjoyed it, and as I mentioned, it stopped me being bored.

You can't really compare drinking alcohol to smoking, those are two completely different things that have different results and consequences.
