Cloudburst City Gym
Gym #: 9 (Post-Elite 4)
Gym Type: Water/Electric
Leader: Storm
Layout
First Floor - Enter the gym to find it is pitch black. Every 4 seconds, lightning strikes and lights up the gym for a second, showing you where to go. There is one trainer on this floor, and he is directly in front of the staircase. After you defeat him, he gets out of your way and you move to the...
Second Floor - This room is completely covered by water, and the door is in sight, however there is a catch; the water has currents that will deter you from getting where you need to. Surf into the current, and you're brought into the path of the first of three trainers. Defeat him, and the current will bring you to a litte island with a switch. Press the switch and the currents switch directions, leading you to another trainer and another switch. After pressing the switch, swim into the current and you are brought to the door, however now you must battle the leader's Elite Trainer. Defeat her and progress to the...
Third Floor - Enter the small room, climb the Waterfall, and walk forward to battle the Gym Leader.
Gym Challenger Jason
68 Infernape
68 Garchomp
The first trainer in the gym, Jason is the weakest trainer in here, and has the fewest amount of pokemon. Defeat him and progress.
Gym Challenger Aidan
71 Torterra
71 Infernape
71 Empoleon
Another challenger to Storm. He is quite challenging given the high levels of his pokemon and their varied typing. Good switching will defeat him.
Gym Challenger Thomas
74 Vaporeon
74 Scizor
74 Metagross
74 Garchomp
The final challenger of this Gym is Thomas. He has enough pokemon at high enough levels to actually be a Gym Leader, but again, if you have been keeping up with training, then he is easily defeated.
Elite Trainer Bailey
78 Heatran
78 Tyranitar
77 Gengar
79 Magnezone
80 Latias
Storm, like every other Gym leader, has an Elite Trainer who acts as his second in command. As this is the 8th Gym, Bailey is the most challenging of all the Elite Trainers. With her very high leveled powerful pokemon and varied typing, she becomes almost as challenging as Storm himself. Handle with care.
Gym Leader Storm
84 Zapdos @ Leftovers - Rain Dance, Roost, Thunder, [Hidden Power Grass]
85 Gyrados @ Life Orb - Dragon Dance, Rain Dance, Waterfall, Stone Edge
85 Electivire @ Expert Belt - Thunder, [Hidden Power Grass], Cross Chop, Flamethrower
86 Milotic @ Leftovers - Rest, Sleep Talk, Hydro Pump, Toxic
88 Raikou @ Life Orb - Rain Dance, Calm Mind, Thunder, [Hidden Power Ice]
90 Kingdra @ Life Orb - Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, Dragon Pulse, Hidden Power [Electric]
Storm runs a Rain Dance team; whenever there is a change in whether besides Rain, he uses Rain Dance. All of his electric pokemon have Thunder, and his water pokemon benefit from the rain with extra damage on their side. Kingdra in particular becomes deadly with Swift Swim. He runs a Special Rain Dance Kingdra, and has a combination of attacks that is unresisted by any pokemon in the game with the exception of Shedinja, who is taken out by Status from every other pokemon. Once rain is up he will get Kingdra in as soon as possible to start sweeping. Besides Kingdra, theres the Gyrados/Electivire combo. If you send out an electric pokemon he switches to Electivire automatically and will try to activate Motor Drive; don't be stupid. Milotic is another challenge, with rest activating Marvel Scale, doubling her Defense, bringing it to around 500, as well as healing her completely. Use Rain Dance against them and Thunder her to death. Try to Toxi-Stall Kingdra, however this will prove to be hard as the majority of pokemon are OHKOd, with the exception of Blissey, who, if she is on the same level as him, will possibly get 2HKOed by Hydro Pump. The hardest fight of all the Gym Fights.
