"I'm going to trade in my games after I beat them."

I tried to sell a game once. It didn't work that well.
Let's say selling stuff is not part of my good-skills set.

For me, it all depends.

Most titles do have post-game content, which will keep you sticking for a while after you are done with the story-line. Me, though, I rely more on how entertaining those content happen to be. If they're not very important and are unable to give me any excitement, if at all, I'll most likely trade the game in and go for something new (every now and again, I'd go through the story one more time before doing so).

There are also titles out there that are known for their multiplayer mode and whatnot, such as Call of Duty and Super Smash Bros, and if it's one of those, then I will probably not trade the game in unless I no longer have the console to play it with.

Usually I try to keep them. I started a new file in Fire Emblem- Awakening (twice), and I still play the Pokemon games.

I trade in games all. the. damn. time. Mostly to fund the purchase of new games! There are some I wouldn't ever dream of parting with, but other games I just beat and move on from because I guess I don't really have an emotional connection to them? But more often than not I'll rack up a small collection of games (all pre-owned, I never trade in anything I buy at full price) that I trade in, so I have plenty of time to evaluate whether or not I really want to get rid of them.

There are some series that I collect though and I'd never get rid of those babies. <3

I like having a collection, so for the most part I don't trade my games in. The only times I do are if a game is undeniably awful and I know I'll never play it and I can get a fair amount for it. Overall I've only traded in a handful of games in my entire lifetime - 99% of my games are still right on my shelf though.
