Question about the Masuda Method

So I've started shiny hunting recently and have been having some pretty good success using the Masuda Method! Using it so far I've hatched a shiny Eevee (now a Sylveon) and a shiny Oshawott. Now I'm going for shiny Smeargle. 

But the thing is, this is the first time one of the parents are a pokemon native to my region. And so far, I've been having no luck with getting a shiny. So my question is, does the Masuda Method not work if one of the parents is yours? Do BOTH parents have to be from different regions or just one? Am I doing it right and just haven't been as lucky this time?
 
Oh good, that's actually a huge relief. I'll have more motivation to continue trying now that I know that what I'm doing isn't a complete waste of time! Not to mention it'll allow some sort of control as to the nature and ability of the shiny I want. (I'm going for an Adamant Technician Smeargle)

Hm, well. I don't know how to clone pokemon, and I don't think I'd want to risk it with my shiny Smeargle (I finally got it after 423 eggs!), but now I have 11 boxes worth of Not-shiny Adamant Technician Smeargles if you want one of those.

i can get someone from pc to clone it for u :p I'm a trusted trader. check out my utility poke section in my trade shop. i can turn ur smeargle into a money making machine or a catching machine :p what ivs does the smeargle have?

Your shop looks very extensive and well put together! But I'm already working on turning Smeargle into a Pokemon catcher. I've got 3 of the 4 moves I need sketched and I'm currently levelling up the last pokemon I need to sketch a move from. I've also EV trained it in Attack, HP, Sp Def and Def. Between it's Adamant nature, Technician, the EV training and STAB it's False Swipe should be quite formidable.

I don't breed for IVs since I stopped training competitive pokemon, so the IVs are "Above Average", is all I know. It does have perfect Speed IVs though.

The only Pokemon I would say I'm currently looking for is a shiny Timid Pikachu. If you had one I would be more than happy to let you clone it, as long as I get my Smeargle back.

Yeah, if you beat the Elite 4 again it'll appear again at the Sky Pillar

Thanks boss, but what I am asking is outside of the pokemon in game, i would need the pokemon that the link showed to complete the dex correct? =)

Like I said alredy you do neeed ALL none event pokemons to complete the dex that includes all those on that list, the only ones you dont need are;, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, phione, manaphy, darkrai, shaymin, arceus, victini, keldeo, meloetta, diancie, hoopa and Volcanion
 
Hey, is there any way to get any specific mirage spot?

Im waiting for a mirage spot for over 2 weeks to show up ( the island which has Substitute to find on it) Is there a way to affect the mirage spots / islands to show up? I swear for almost 2 weeks this specific mirage island diddnt show up.

Would be happy to get Help :-)

you can try conect to the internet from the pss and it should uppdate the mirage spots
 
Yellow Groudon?

Hello everyone, I have a totally newbie question here. I'm pretty new to Pokemon and just got a Yellow Groudon off of the GTS, does that mean it's shiny? I thought Groudon was red?
Totally forgot I had another question as well. I was trying to trade for Ho-Oh on the GTS but I'm not sure how to spell it because there is no option to put a dash in the name. I'm not having any luck with that one cause I'm not sure how I should enter it, anyone know the correct format for that Pokemon name?
