Is it just me, or the third generation is better than the fourth? Maybe because I grew up with it but....doesnt it just seem more fun?

Since I grew a full beard and had grandkids by the time I finished the 4th gen, I didn't like it. To be honest, the same residual bad guys getting beat by a 10 year old while trying to take over the world theme is getting rather dull. They need bad guys with better pokemon or a different idea. 4th gen dragged on, so did having to use defog. Q_Q

3rd gen was faster thusly better. (Same rules do not apply to GSC because those games were amazing)

Wow! I agre.......PS: Second Generation RUELZ!!!!!!

I like all the Pokemon Generations equally much, except Generation 3.5(that's what I call Fire Red and Leaf Green), I really hated that.

for some reason, I could never really bother to actually finish D/P. I go as far as beating Volkner and then lose interest en route to the Pokemon League. >_>

...that's seriousy the first time a Pokemon game has done that to me. >_<

I felt like I was forcing my way to finish the game more times in D/P(but not P)than in 3rd, but I still find the 4th generation to be a significant step forward for technology.
As the new kids say it, THE POWER OF SCIENCE IS STAGGERING!

thats something we have in common :]

I absolutley loved the 3rd generation, the 4th generation was a reboot for me but it was still enjoyable.

I wasn't as interested in the fourth generation as I was in the past. I mean I bough Diamond and I finished it but I didn't have that urge to replay it afterwards like I had with Crystal or Ruby.

3rd generation was much better imo, better pokemon, better landscape (water routes), better story, good villians and more fun to play.

One reason thrid was better was you could dive.

    This...

Also the region seemed a bit fresher than Sinnoh did for some reason. It was odd they removed aesthetic features from Gen III in Gen IV, like reflecting clouds in puddles and shadows while on bridges, or footstep sounds on different grounds (Save snow).

They both have pros and cons.
I like a lot of thins better in GenIV, but storyline was DEFINITELY not one of them
Same thing as usual. Bad guys pick on a little kid and get decimated.
Also, I'm getting sick of the increasing amount of legendaries. There's like 30 of them at least.
Thats a bit much, don't you think?
I miss back when there was only 4 available legendaries.

I could hardly agree more. If there's one thing I dislike about Gen IV, it's the insane amount of legendaries. I mean, come on - 14 legendaries in one generation!

Still, I liked Gen IV, but I can't help liking Gen III just a wee bit more.

This is a matter of opinion than fact.

I enjoyed both R/S/E and D/P/Pt. I was even pleased with the remake. What I was annoyed with was the increasing amount of Legendary Pokemons. :< There's too many of them.

I know it's all opinion, but I personally prefer R/S/E over D/P/Pt. And I prefer all of those to FR/LG. I never got into the game.

They both have their good and bad parts. I like how you can run inside buildings in the 4th gen, but they took a step back with their Surfing. It just felt so slow (I heard that it's fixed in Platinum. I haven't played that one yet). I also felt like R/S/E had more replay value, and I also didn't like how the 4th gen threw in so many legendaries.

Still, I don't necessarily hate the 4th gen. I'm not that fond of it, but the game is still pretty fun.

Let's just put it this way, DPPt made me appreciate Magma and Aqua a whole lot more. And after being in love for GSC for a long time, RSE made me doubly appreciate Team Rocket. I know Nintendo has the formula for making lots of money, but the least they could do is provide fans with a somewhat interesting storyline.

I just knew something was wrong when I saw the names for the DPPt starters. They can do much better with names besides tur-twig, chim-char, and pip-lup. I just had no idea the rest of the game was going to seem so dull.

Ranting aside I think that it's still a good game, and really I'll play anything Nintendo puts out. I think for me to say RSE was better is maybe a little misplaced because I didn't think RS were that good and then Emerald kind of redeemed the set.

It sucks to have been so spoiled by GSC. :(

    The 3rd generation was awesome.

    In the fourth generation:
    - Diamond and Pearl were horrible, I can't believe I actually finished Diamond on a ROM O_O
    - Platinum was great.
    - HeartGold and SoulSilver are great too. Even though I ain't gotten that far in any of those games. :p

Generation IV was awful. I had absolutey no fun at all.

I was always getting stuck and running all over the place when i couldn't get into... Man i can't even remeber the name of that place cause the game was so bad. I can remember every area of kanto and most of johto (except the areas which have wierd names) But on P/D/Pt you actually have to look around and talk to get anywhere. Like the team galatic guy you have to talk to who runs away and drops a key. Man thats Bull.

You like what you grow up with, simple as that. Each generation has their own little differences that make them unique and it's what makes different people like what they like. In general, there never truly will be a 'best generation' or a 'better generation'. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

(but for me, I like the 3rd gen better! ^_^)
