Is there a hack for sitting in your house and having your Avatar travel for you?

GPS spoofing is possible but you'll be banned if you get caught. Niantic is really good in catching those cheaters, they've "trained" it with Ingress.

I have seen some hacks for this but both of the friends I've seen using it had their accounts banned so I'd be surprised if they stay in your area for long if they were actually doing that. Quite right too :p

Are there buildings near the gym? Definitely possible that someone lives/works within range and could have been attacking the gym without being visible to you (I work two buildings down from a pokestop. Technically I shouldn't be able to reach it, but thanks to the GPS being way off in that particular location for some reason, I'm just barely in range about 90% of the time)

I don't want the hack. Just wondering about it. And it was a cemetery with no buildings around. Except a crypt....if someone was hiding in it....more power to them

I've heard about soft bans, but nothing permanent. Did your friends get permanently banned?

It's possible, but you need a rooted android or jail broken iPhone, so hopefully it's not too prevalent.
