    Hello ladies and gents of thePokéCommunity.

    Introduction
    My name is Donnie and I am a webdeveloper, designer, artist and YouTuber based in Munich, Germany. I am also a Pokémon Fan from day 1. I was born 81... so yeah.. literally DAY 1 :D

    A little bit of advertising
    As a webdeveloper and designer (working on pretty big sites) I learned a lot and thought I would start my very own Pokémon database. One that feels modern, easy to use and mobile friendly. Something you would expect from the year 2016 :D

    It is far from done and I just launched last Thursday. I would like to here from you guys how you like it and give me feedback and help me make the site a better place.

    So many creative hobbies you have! I'm an artist, writer, and graphic designer so I can relate. Very awesome seeing people who love creativity as much as me. PC actually has a lot of people like us, art, roleplay, writing, making fangames, etc all tend to be big here. =) Welcome Donnie!

    You can always link to your project in your signature, that's fair game for most advertising unless it's sensitive material or GO cheats haha. I wouldn't be against you posting your database in the Pokémon General board either as long as it's not only done for your own benefit in mind, shameless advertising for views/profit is what's frowned upon here. You looking forward to Sun or Moon? =o

    Thank you for letting me post my database. There is no better place to get feedback for a Pokémon database then from a forum packed with Pokémon trainers from all around the world right?

    It's not just a database. I am really trying to help people out. And once you have enough data you can do pretty neat things. You can take a look for yourself.

    I already have a very nice feature for Pokémon GO on the site. It's the CP calculator. Lets' say you want to take over an arena. The Pokémon holding the arena is a Jolteon with 1968 CP. Search for Jolteon on the site and enter the CP in the CP calculator and it will give you back the value 1574. If you choose the right counter-type Pokémon based on the bonus you will get 1968 is equal strength to 1574. And even better... All the recommended Pokémon beneath are the ones too choose with that advantage.

    Definetly looking forward to Sun and Moon. My birthday is November 19th so I am pretty sure what i will get :D

    In your signature it says "twin". Just became father of twins. A baby girl and baby boy. They are 20 months old. Best thing that ever happened to me :)
     
    Hey, Pokemon-Overdose! I'm really enjoying your pokemon database there! Its design is certainly as modern and sleek as you claim. What language have you used to create the backend of the site? I've noticed you only have the first 151 pokemon cataloged--are you planning on making this database solely for Pokemon GO?

    If you're ever in need of any assistance, I have a fair amount of programming experience and may be able to lend a hand!
     
    The backend uses WordPress. When I started in my local enviroment I added all 700+ Pokémon. But then had to delete everything due to an logic-error in my structure that messed up the database. That is why I just entered the first 151 for the moment to check if everything is ok. And because I wanted to push the "CP calculator" feature as soon as possible.

    But I don't just want to focus on GO. Will be adding the other data later down the road. And it is better to get feedback for wanted features early on. Changing those things afterwards is a pain in the... :D. I know what I am talking about... just had to delete 700+ entries.

    So my main goal for now is to get the site to as many people as possible that can test the site and are willing to give me feedback and make the site awesome! Like a site from fans for fans :D

    I hope that as well. But it won't be easy since a lot of great databases already exist. And looks alone isn't everything.

    Heya Donnie! Welcome to PokéCommunity! You have so many creative hobbies. One we share in common is web development! I've been doing it for a while and I'm self taught. I've taken a look at your database and it's pretty nifty. It's really clean and optimized for mobile which is really huge these days considering how much people use their phones for browsing the internet.
