Swampert has to have Attack EVs if you're going to choice band him, otherwise he'll be doing pathetic damage: 108 HP / 204 Atk / 96 Def / 100 Speed keeps him decently bulky and actually lets you hit something lol.

Taunt seems kind of meh on Infernape...Why taunt when you can Nasty Plot and OHKO that same Gyrados and Zapdos after they switch in? (With SR damage). Or add HP Ice to gain some more type coverage. You don't want to end up taunting something that will end up attacking you in the first place.

Metagross probably needs some speed EVs, maybe delegate some of those HP EVs overs. It'll help him outspeed a lot more stuff.

    Just a few things I saw ;D

Well, the set is just appealing to me. Does destiny bond keep him alive with the focus sash if hes at full hp and he *supposed* to die?
He has to die, faint, not be on screen any more, in order for his Dbond to kick in. For a SashBonder this set works just fine. I've made mine to bulky a few times and it ended up costing me the game. SS teams WILL be a problem, but I believe you will OHKO standard TTars if Focus Blast connects.

This is a pretty bulky swampart. He hits tremendously hard, and has some nice coverage. [/b]
I love swampert mainly because he's so darn bulky and dishes out damage to no tomorow. Yes, it's a CB set where the atk ev's are in def, but swampert needs the extra def. to keep going, and he already does enough DMG to take down TTar, weavile, so on...

It's miaxape without nasty plot, i went with taunt back in the day. Why? Because i ALWAYS predicted a gyrados or some other set-up pokemon, such as zapdos(it was probably JUST these two...), since people loved setting up on mixape...idk how it is now...

    So whatcha guys think =)

    Changes in bold.

I hope it helps, I'm just getting back ingame 2 :p

That Swampert is awful, use the spread given to you by Aurafire. Snorlax wants Fire Punch > Crunch to gain coverage on Metagross, Skarmory, and other Steel-types. I'd rather be able to touch Steel-types than hit Gengar super effectively (after a Curse or two, Fire Punch ruins Gengar).

Two indications: Infernape doesn't do anything of Taunt (it doesn't very probably have the Staying Power to make this movement useful on him), the moveset of Snorlax is totally mistaken I don't like because it doesn't have sense strengthen it for then to totally be walled up by a Ghost.
How is it walled by Ghosts if it's running Crunch?

Okay, Gengar's probably not the best lead, as Azelf outspeeds it and has a sash of it's own. Swampert's actually a far better potential lead, as it can take a hit from basically anything, and a bunch of leads will Taunt it, thinking it has SR.

Swampert has to have Attack EVs if you're going to choice band him, otherwise he'll be doing pathetic damage: 108 HP / 204 Atk / 96 Def / 100 Speed keeps him decently bulky and actually lets you hit something lol.

    Just a few things I saw ;D

Well the thing is when i made swampert about a year ago it was for a different team. I guess it might look like he doesn't do enough damage but he's still a valuable pokemon i have regardless of what he looks like otherwise...he's a great TTar/weavile counter and a great tank with the defense...idk if im sure to agree with the ev spread on swampert mainly cuz i gotta ask why speed?? =/ im not disagreeing with you, i guess you can say im questioning it.

How many evs should i move over on metagross?

Erm... it has 6. There is no picture above Infernape so it is hard to see.

Gave infernape a pic i forgot it was 3 in the morning i made this lol

    Changes in bold.

I hope it helps, I'm just getting back ingame 2 :p

Hey it's good 2 see another newbie such as me lol so um thunderpunch over ice punch why? Im jus asking i have meta kind of as a switch in for outrage dragons (salamence and kingdra i remember were hyped to be the big ones before i went on my hiatus) and thats what they were mostly here for.

Awful? why is he being judged like that? before i left he was actually recomended...hes such a good pokemon and has saved my but too many times with his sturdy defense on a switch in...so i dont understand...where is the love?? =/

My steel coverage is within dragonite and infernape i thought curse lax was laughed at??? =/ If my snorlax is an offensive one, then i can't rest talk =/ I used my snorlax as an alternative switch-in for blissey and others because he absorbs thunder-wave n stuff...i dunno, i have no idea what guys are used nowadays nd stuff i know there's smogon but still you never know what people use...

I was guna point that out too^^

swampert actually used to be my lead but i just changed it up because people use scarf mixape nd whatever and i dont want my swampert to be grass knotted turn 1...

The bolded part is why i love cb swampert leads so much =)

You want Tpunch for Skarmory / Gyarados and friends of that nature.

Gross 2HKO's mence with Mash. With -Def nature on some (i think mild or rash) it'll be a OHKO.

Ice Punch makes you 100% walled by Skarmory. Ice Punch was honestly ONLY used for the variants of Gliscor. Most now adays aren't devensively bulky. They run SD sets or BP sets and friends.

If you want a suitable lead. Lead Ape is always a good call. It just gets a moderately different spread.

Honestly, there are a lot of different choices. Max speed is almost a screaming call. Going with CC alone makes you vulnerable to LOTS of common leads, where going with just Fire Blast makes you bliss bait. Taunt is good but a lot of Scarf Leads and the like will ruin it for you any way. Fake out is amazing, and the only reliable thing that normally plagues the field will be Rotom.

Fire Blast is nice for the few Zong leads that will plague your field, or the many rachi's ive seen lately.

You lack revenge more than anything. Which is bad. You have no priority and minimal speed team. a Scizor can come in on your Non-Fire Punch sleeping snorlax and lol all over you. If you want a decent revenge I'd run

    Gengar @ Choice Scarf
    252 Speed / 252 Sp. Att / 4HP
    Timid Nature (+Speed, -Attack)
    -HP Ice/Hypnosis
    -Focus Blast
    -Shadow Ball
    -Tbolt / Hypnosis

This revenge is nice. Come in on anything like Raging +1 mence and lolz as you blast him with a OHKO HP ice. Ghost / Fighting combo is still one of the best. Giving you coverage over most steels and weaviles. Focus Blast tends to be a OHKO on ttar with Rocks up so he's not a real threat. The onlything you have to worry about is the CBTTars / CBViles / CBZors who will come in and Pursuit you. Though Vile isn't used quite as much as it used to be.

You REALLY need a Check / Revenge killer for Mence. He is able to OHKO just about your entire team with a DD or 2 under his belt. With such little coverage towards him he WILL run you down fast. A Outrage from +2 WILL 2hko your Metagross under any circumstances. You cant even switch in from afte ryou see the first or 2nd DD as they'll just EQ you to submission.

One of my favorite Revenge Killers is Rachi.

This is a sweet beauty. With the ability to switch into Mences DD and revenge the **** out of him with Ice Punch. Tpunch is an option if you want to come in on some Gyarados. Fire Punch for Scizors and Iron head for stab and sublime Hax

    Hope that helps later

That Swampert you have is awful because your EV spread is terrible. Without any Atk investment, he just isn't going to do enough damage, even with a Choice Band.

Yeah you need some sort of check or revenge killer, like Stricken said. Alot of threats such as Gyarados and mence walk over you with little trouble.

I dont see what that gar is accomplishing, id scarf it so you can revenge stuff.

You also lack stealth rock, which does come back to bite you. It should be a crime not to have it.

Taunt is useless on Nape because its common counters just attack it lol = /

Snorlax seems really out of place "because its a special wall" isnt really a valid argument because i dont see what it adds here.

Great comment stricken. Now see, this is what i used to get back in the day.

anyways yea like i said i dont have an idea of the meta and i didnt notice gliscor isnt so much of a threat defensively and i didnt know that skarm is so popular again so yea i guess T-punch will be edited in on metagross.

Yea i also was very afraid of DD mence, i always was back then even. Im not sure how i can get a hold of a jirachi like that but i guess i'll try...=/

So im gettin the idea that leading with gengar is not such a good idea. I also WAS going to scarf him but i didnt like the idea of running a team with 2 choice items, so i just made him a destiny bond lead. Guess ill switch it back.

If i need SR, would you like to give me any suggestions on how i could incorporate it into my team??

Idk the ape i had used to be physical and taunt was just a personal favorite since he COULDNT fight back at dd mence or gyra on the switch so i just made sure they couldnt set up with this one either...since i hear DD mence is big again idk i guess its ok to run it with taunt since mixape cant really do jack to mence and jus gives it a +1 atk/speed with the standard plot ape? I mean i know if predicted right with nasty plot you can take gyra down Im jus brain storming...

the thing with snorlax...well...idk what to say....he's a special wall and does his job =/

    hmm let's see...

    i just scarfed gengar...

I still wana know why swampert needs 100 speed =/ idk if its for a certain poke THAT dangerous now cause idk why you'd wana put speed into something so slow =/

I guess ill go with fire punch considering everyones argument for it. Platinum has move tutors to teach it to me right??

100 scarfed, hmmm, sounds pretty appetizing =) But would that outrun a salamence after a dragon dance? =/ (After metagross agilitizes i mean)

    Changed infernape.

And yea i know isnt that dragonnite awesome =)

Thanks for the comment it really helps =)

Of course it does. Most DDMences are Adament. You can outspeed them after 2 DD's not tha tyou'll get that chance. but You CAN live 1 EQ from DD Mence with proper ev spread.

Cool nd awesome thanks a bunch =)

I do still wana know though...

Why DOES swampert need 100 speed? I mean ill change the ev spread but if you want swampert to hit harder and still have sturdy def. then why speed =/

    Quote from Smogon
100 speed EV's will give Swampert a Speed stat of 181. This beats all those Pokemon such as Skarmory, Magnezone, Tyranitar and Metagross which hang around this region.
    There you go ^__^

    dude honestly I don't know

I looked at the OU threat list, where the standard Pert is posted. It doesn't say anything.

I don't think it'd hurt anything throwing those 100 speed EV's into defense putting you at 196 def EV's which still supplies you with bulk and brawn.

Also, most TTars are DD now adays. Smogon's set for CBPert is outdated as per the usual.
Magnezones run the scarf and will switch out on you any who.
And most gross haven't a problem taking it either.

Hmm well choice band swampert in the smogon section does show what Pokedra^^ posted above. It makes a ton of sense...i mean i guess i know i wont be taking hits well it allows me to take down more threats then before.
