I wonder if I'd like the newer Macross movie(s).

I haven't seen anything to do with Macross since my friend I watched Macross Plus when we were 13.

Macross Frontier is really good. I loved the series, and the movies were good as well. Clearly you'll understand the movies better if you watch the show. But I'm sure you can get the idea of what's going on from the two movies (even if the show and the movies are sort of different).

Haven't really seen any anime lately, and I'm not up to date with some of the newer ones. Anyone want to suggest me a new anime to watch from the new season?

Guilty Crown... ATM it's my fav series this season.

I'm still enjoying this show more than any other this season, no lie. Guilty Crown just feels more generic and disappointing with each passing episode.

- Macross Frontier: Sayonara no Tsubasa

I'm a fan of the Alto x Sheryl. I liked the pairing even more after it was shown that they met as kids. But that doesn't mean I didn't feel bad for Ranka... When Alto shot her down there at the end it was really sad.
I didn't like the ending due to Alto going bye bye. Yea I know he's still alive, yea I know that Sheryl singing/talking and her earring glowing was a sign... maybe a sign that he's back or at the very least a sign he's alive. But I still would have liked for him to show up, even if it was after the credits and maybe show him looking at his downed ship. That would have been nice.

I like how it wasn't an exact copy of the show. Sure they still went to the planet, sure they still helped out the Vajra and the Vajra helped them. But still it was different, and I liked that. I don't want to watch a movie for a recap of the series.

Overall it was really good. If you're looking for a few movies to watch then the two Macross F movies are worth it.

That's all I can say. The episode speaks for itself... but it was funny and so stupid at the same time. XD
And it was good to hear Rock Over Japan again... the last time we heard it was episode 7.

I like Shaga... she's crazy but fighting with chopsticks was awesome. I can't wait to see more of that, and I hope her and Sen fight again someday down the line. And looks like You/Satou is getting better at fighting. When I first saw this show I just wanted something to watch on the side... but it has turned out to be a really good show... even if it's crazy. XD

...and I totally have to try and watch a few of the shows I said I was going to this season. Time to go find Phi Brain and Guilty Crown!

zzzzzz this part of the week is so boring for new episodes. Almost everything I watch airs on Thursday and Saturday now, though I am behind on Chihayafuru and P4A.

Only a month into the new season and I'm already 18 episodes behind, that's not including the shows with other 9000 episodes like Gintama and One Piece that I've never been up to date with.

Guess there's no point mentioning that I've just finished Major S2, I think sports shows are my latest animu love.

I am watching it! I really like the series so far and I think the fact that a lot of people wrote it off based purely on its animation style alone shows how incredibly judgmental people can be. It's still got all the death, war, and serious costs of war that Gundam is typically known for in the past. It really plays like a revamp of the original series.

I've been watching this with a friend, and I think he's currently describing it as, "The beginning of the series reminds me of Nadesico, and there are Vandread colony ships sending out their Escaflownes to fight the Gundam, which can't be damaged by them, and has essentially an 'I Win' button. On the other hand, anything that isn't the Gundam gets nearly instantly beaten because it's not the Gundam."

On the topic of Escaflowne, Yurin needs to teach Flit the secret of dousing so he can become a true killing machine.

Personally, I still can't get past the way it looks but I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'll probably just try to marathon it when it's wrapped up if it doesn't turn out to be absolutely horrible, though I'm tempted to start now just because I've been nostalgia-ing pretty severely about Gundam lately. I heard the second OP to Gundam SEED on some internet radio station the other day and I haven't stopped thinking about it since.

Okay, impressions for a few of this week's shows.

Mawaru Takodrum 17:

I was wondering when the incest-y stuff from the very first Seizon Senryaku would show up again. After last week's revelation, I don't think that things are going to end happily for Kanba.

Sanetoshi continues to be shibireru ne, even though he barely had any time this week.

Somehow, I always felt that Tabuki would be the one to seek revenge for Momoka.

Boku ha Tomoblahblahblah 05:

I really haven't liked any of the harem additions after Yozora and Sena. Too many lolis now, and I have no idea why they decided to spend a second episode parodying RPGs. The nun and Kobato seriously need less time in future episodes; they make my ears bleed and they're not funny.

Fate/Zero 05:

Badass five-way servant Mexican Standoff. The Berserker vs. Gilgamesh fight got my blood pumping more than I thought it would. It probably helps that Berserker looks like some kind of horrifying enemy in Demon's Souls and might be the first example of something being enhanced by CG in an anime.

Rider is so incredibly GAR. He's absolutely stealing the show.

Guilty Crown 04:

I guess I can try to enjoy it a little more now that I've stopped trying to compare it to Code Geass altogether. Inori is a painfully boring character. I think Ayanami Rei has more spark and personality than she does. I don't like the "rule" of voids that only people 17 and under have them (how the hell do you account for the obviously-not-17-regardless-of-what-canon-says Kill-em-All Darryl?), so hopefully Shu sticks to pulling that sword out of Inori most of the time so that we're stuck with the bare minimum of high school hijinx possible.

Now that Shu isn't waffling on joining Undertaker anymore, maybe the meat of the plot can begin in earnest next week.

I kind of disagree. Sure, Maria and Kobato are by no means original, but I like the dynamic they add to the group. I don't think their bickering is supposed to serve as humorous in general, but rather as something to be seen as "cute". That said, characters are all up to preference. I honestly like Kobato and Maria more since they're voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Mayuri Shiina from Steins;Gate) and Yuka Iguchi (Index from Toaru Majutsu no Index) respectively.

Ayanami Rei still holds the record for most boring, emotionless character (at least her original character, not the reworked Rebuild version). I really can't see how you'd place Inori lower seeing as she shows signs of a will, feelings, and emotions. It took Rei how long to show any of those things? Until the Angel cube thing when she protects Shinji? XD

The 17-years old requirement is lame, and they better explain why with a damn good reason. it crossed my mind it's just a way to keep him from being overpowered, but I also considered it was a fake rule Gai made up and that Shu can actually do it (maybe just not as he is now without being unable to control it). Or maybe Gai just doesn't want it used against him. Something also strikes me odd about when Shu uses Inori's void. His eyes go all psycho red. They didn't do that with his other classmates from what I could tell.

Madoka movies eh, 2 recaps and an original. Guess this will be pretty cool, Madoka in film quality could be a very nice watch indeed. As for the original I've got my fingers crossed for a Poorfag-chan and her daily struggles type thing.

Is it sad that my main concern at the end of the episode was regarding my Sho x Ringo pairing? XD I really have no idea what the show is trying to get at with the Takakura family. Sho is her soulmate? Why was he in the broiler? What magic power does he have? WHY DOES THIS SHOW HAVE SUCH AWFUL CLIFFHANGERS!?
