Not really, Ayase is totally serious about killing you for corrupting her Kirino, she came off as pretty yandere at the end of her arc too. The dad route is more unexpected actually. Hope for more in December[January]'s Dengeki.

bah, don't like Sankaku Complex though. Usually I just browse the headlines, pick up the relevant links, and form my own opinion of it rather than having them media me into their opinions (which I usually end up disagreeing with)

Gotta admit the only VN i've played through is Clannad so through lack of experience it may have been surprising. I guess it wouldn't follow the show exactly as by the end of the episode she asked for Kyousuke's number Didn't she? :L

Anyway, I couldn't sleep tonight so i decided to have a Ghost Hunt marathon, I mean it's not scary or anything......Bang, arc about a guy who thought he could get healthy by killing, draining the blood from and then bathing in blood of his young victims. Cheery. :L

If Funimation sued me for this, I'd die laughing.
It hath not escaped my all-powerful notice that, on no less than four occasions, you have used the phrase "Nipah™" without my written consent, permission, approval, and/or/if/when/where/how/why allowance. The use of this phrase, which violates certain laws that may or may not exist, has occurred in topics such as this one, this so called "thread" of yours, this heinous, heinous monstrosity of trademark infringement,, and, finally, this.

Seeing as how you horrific criminals have neither requested, asked for, kindly said 'please', petitioned for, or inquired as to the availability of my consent, I'm gonna slap the Shanghai Law into effect, and I'm planning on suing your criminal behinds for four easy payment of $2,999.99.

I hereby demand that you cease, desist, end, terminate, stop, and discontinue the use of my phrase. If, within 30 seconds, you demonstrate an attitude of incompliatation, I shall personally come to your houses and cut you. And it will hurt. And you'll probably die. Slowly and painfully. Heh heh.
On that note, use "incompliatation™" without my consent, and... *Sharpens knife*

My only VN has been "Hourglass of Summer," which was actually translated and released in the US by the now defunct Hirameki International company. The format itself is interesting; it's actually a DVD where you use the DVD navigation commands to choose your options and proceed through the story. The story itself is an interesting mix of romance and "skipping through time" to prevent disasters or make sure events occur in the future.

There was also a 2-episode OVA that kept the Japanese title, "Natsuiro no Sunadokei" which was decent for a 2-episode OVA but the VN is involved enough that the storyline really should have been stretched out over more episodes.

I'm getting the feeling that you're saying the shoujo genre can't have good stories or characters...

What? I don't think I've said that. o_O

The argument was that if anything is lacking too much in a certain category, it doesn't appeal. In Lesabre's case, a major attribute is story, which is heavily related to genre.

What I was objecting to was that she was putting how the pictures were drawn on the same level on how the story was told. 3/5 of her enjoyment criteria was skin deep sound and sight things. People have dismissed shows because of their art style. A lot of people think the same was as LeSabre and I find that objectionable.

Not having a taste for Shonen series (in this case, Dragonball, which is battle-based) doesn't mean that they can't enjoy storytelling at all.

See prior.

Not watching moe shows is supposed to be an example of good art, horrible story. As far as the second point goes, there are also many genres of fiction as well. It's like saying if you like good romance novels, then you automatically must like good fantasy novels as well or you hate good storytelling.

See prior.

Frankly, a lot of the controversy is that you watch primarily Shonen and LeSabre watches primarily Shojo.

See prior.

ex post facto. Also, I'm allowed to use Nipa~ as a privilege statement, so :p digi-chan law exceeds Shanghai Law, as seen by my higher OQ score by triple, and stumping Shanghai.

also, you don't have to quote the entire thing, you can just say something along the lines of "everything else has been summed up" or something. It's like you're trying to rub something in my face off a misunderstanding ^^;;
Anyways, a lot of it was that the post was made after talking about Dragonball, and how I interpreted it as you saying LeSabre was a hypocrite for saying she didn't like Dragonball, but liked story, especially when you capitalized everything BUT story and characters, making it seem like you thought that those were minor traits that LeSabre wanted :/

Though again, LeSabre's against "Lacking" in a category. LeSabre said "the whole package" and "if (one) is lacking too much," not "i want them all to be equally good"

VN-wise: I have Clannad and Little Busters here, though I've gotten a decent way though a whole bunch of various ones while I was in my Galge phase. Currently I'm working on Kud Wafter, and am going to move on the Rewrite demo soon.

Dear lord you know you're watching a bad series when you enjoy the omake a lot more than the actual show.

Saying that this current arc, despite the obvious melodrama has been ok.

I'm a miniboss. None of that counted. Past victories never count against minibosses, because we're always just playing around.

Or something.

Anyway, Shanghai Law is bound to the mind and whims of Shanghai Alice. Owing to Shanghai's insanity, Shanghai Law is, therefore, equally inconstant and insane. Therefore, in order to trump Shanghai Law, you must be able to constantly adapt and top the insanity of Shanghai Law. Digi-Law is, by definition, bound to digi-kun. Digi-kun is a moderator, so digi-kun must be stable and constant. Therefore, a constant, clearly defined law is no match for Shanghai Law.

I win.

Just marathoned through Mobile Suit Gundam. Great fun watching old school animation, especially with Char sniping off heads through space glass with a Rocket Launcher

nipah~ Of course it wasn't a threat. There's no need to do anything to something that's not a threat.

Just read through Disappearance too. Great fun. Can't wait for the movie to hit DVD. Same goes for the visual novel coming out next year.

OBJECTION DENIED!

....man, I really need to finish Utena though, that series has been on my hiatus list since how long ^^;; Same goes for Allison and Lilia actually...well, thanksgiving gives some good time to watch some anime XD

Last time I checked, the full series was only $20 or so. It's a bit old, so it's unlikely to find a legal stream of it. I think AIR is the same price actually.

If I could find somewhere that was streaming it legally, I definitely would finish up Kanon 2006. That's my "series that's been on hiatus for far too long because my DVD budget is depleted."
Just curious... why pay for anime? The Japanese watch it free, why shouldn't we? I understand buying manga, and I actually do buy all of my games, but not anime.

It's on youtube btw. In HD too.

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirate's life for me
We pillage, we plunder we rifle and loot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho

Saying that i've been a bit better recently, brought a few of my favourites. As for manga i have brought very few but still some. Games, don't really play them but when i do i buy them.

Um, the reason they watch it free a lot is because it isn't actually available. And it airs on TV, you know?...It's not like the US where our DVDs were released long before they started airing on TV. Now if you're streaming the channel while it happens to be airing, that may be a different story, but somehow I highly doubt it.

Besides that, there's a certain pride to owning the series you like. Most of the very good series I've seen I own on DVD myself, especially when there's deals on them. Rightstuf tends to have really good deals constantly, so that's a good place to look for good prices.

Eh, I support the industry in whatever way I can, but...

If I never pirated Azumanga Daioh, I never would've dropped $50 on getting both translations of the omnibus.

Same for LS, and Geass.
