The Ferengi were intended to be the most menacing enemy in Star Trek: The Next Generation when they were introduced, but the audience found them humorous and so the Borg were introduced. One of the facets of the Ferengi's menacing nature was supposed to be their mispronunciation of "human" as "hew-mon", and even though they were turned into comic villains after the failure to make them frightening, that little quirk remained as part of their culture in subsequent episodes that featured them.

Yeah...other guy was a Star Trek buff so that's what I was guessing. Meh...still like using it, hew-mon.

I use to watch the show a lot...never really picked up on any of it...or remember any of what happened on it. Just something I watched when I was bored. o_o
