Japanese simple dictionary/thesaurus

Wow it seems dead around here. I'd love if people who've actually used this to inform me. Makes me feel low to just do all thius an have it die almost instantly. But I know there will be more people so I'm still giving updates for the curious and the newbies.

-kun = A suffix used at the end of a male's name, either for familiarity or for respect
Correction. Kun is mainly used for boys, but can also be used for girls.

このくんわうぇえあぼおです。
Kono-kun's a weeaboo D=

Just got back here

@PikachuEX- hmm... I forgot to put in "usually", just got back to this and I'll be fixing that.

@Kenshin- weeaboo? I have no idea what that is but I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you very much I do enjoy the title weeaboo (sorta, kinda, not being sarcastic)

@Nanako- I was thinking about that. This should be a lot of time for first comers and forgetters and reviewers.

How about it? Can a mod please sticky this thread. I forgot about it for awhile because of no replies but I'll get working on it again with the updates.

ALC? Never heard of it. Wat is it?

Wow, this is incredible. I am positive that this will help a lot of memebers in need and it will also help me in learning more japanese words to use. Simply wonderful, keep up the good work.

Very nice, Im only curious over one thing....Have you done 'all' this completely yourself or had uncredited parts from another site/source?

Well I didn't do it alone if that's what you're going to (obviously). I actually have 2 other actual japanese friends (I don't give out names that don't want to be given out) who helped with making this list (ours is longer) so that we can post it on the site. The only thing I know as of now that didn't come from our own prior knowledge was the baby names of boys and girls which we got from some site. If I find the site again I will credit though. Some of this was also learned using Lt. Frog. "learned" is the keyword there.

I have c couple things that I might suggest. (I have a small vocabulary of random words so...)

Hikari - Bright (This is a word and a name)
Sekai - World
Kin - Gold (This is a word and a name)

Well yeah

I have read that Moe means precious one or something like that.

What does Kare mean?

Moe is really more commonly known for referencing to the love of anime and/or manga IIRC.

Kare means "he".

I can help

Hey, if there is a word you want to know in japanese, ask me. My fiance is Japanese, and of course speaks the language fluently, so I`m sure she can help. Hell, I might even learn something new!!

This is true, and in Japan you usually don`t hear this word used outside of otaku types that talk about anime.

ALC is probably the biggest English learning resource publisher in Japan.
Heck, even if it isn't the "biggest", it sure is devoted a lot to English learners.

They also publish a lot of Japanese text for English speakers living in Japan, and the translation tool on their webpage works both ways.

Lol. You mistook my ethnicity. I'm not japanese and I clearly know English since its my first language. Japanese is my second but I'm not that great so this helps me remember and inspires me to continue to try learning more even though Japanese should never ever be recommended to a starter for a second language because of the complexity in finding its origin. I figured since alot of it is so similar to english in speech its easy to learn. I will tell my 2 helping friends about this though.

To Saruboy- I'm not taking this in but my friends says that what you said is rude and in the habit of competitors. lol. If you can help ad more to the list than all that we already have than please contact us here- [email protected]

We would really love the help!
