I have such a hard time deciding my favorite episode; it's either "Scrambled Ed" (ED'S SEA RANCH!), "An Ed is Born" (Ed eating the camera), or "1+1 = Ed" (Look at me run!)

Okay, evil moment over. Umm...
I've always wondered about that myself. I believe that he has an illness like cancer or something where he has no hair and he's ashamed about it.
No offence to anyone who has cancer, but you gotta understand. If you lose all your hair on your head, wouldn't you be a little sad or embarrassed?

I think he doesn't have any hair underneath it or maybe there's a scar or something there and he wears the hat to cover it up.

I've always thought it was some sort birth defect that is to hideous for the general public. Like some huge crack or maybe a bulging brain.
