Greetings, koff~

I'm actually looking for a new forum to frequent, as my last one (aegis7) is slowly dying. So, I thought I'd try this one out and see how it goes, koffi~

Let's go over a few facts about myself:

First, I like coffee.

I like the pokemons.

Except the third generation. Sad to say that the fourth stomped the third. I haven't played White 2 or Black 2.

I'm almost embarrassed to buy new pokemon games due to my age, and the stereotypes that pokemon is for kids doesn't help.

My favorite pokemons are Muk and Koffing.

I haven't cheated at a pokemon game since the second generation (clones. Everywhere), although I'm sometimes tempted.

I'm actually excited about the new 2DS coming out, as the folding gig was getting a tad old. Sony doesn't have a folding handheld, and it's amazing. PS, I don't have a 3DS

I'm excited about the new pokemon games, and I need to stop looking up info about it to save myself from learning too much. Also, I'm gunning for X

I hate the event pokemon. I've missed so many and I am always upset that the data is on the card and I can't retrieve it without cheating. I can't even trade for it on the GTS.

I ride a Harley Davidson. I am a man.

I hate the 'EZ-Mail' that they devised. I can't tell you how much the thing sucks. You used to be able to type whatever you needed to, now you need to find the words in the game and string them into poor, choppy sentences. They should implement a censoring system instead.

I need someone to trade me a vullaby, as I only have White and I really don't want to go to gamestop, buy a used black version, and return it. . .

I'm studying Japanese, so wish me luck, koff~

I like music. I don't need your new stuff. I got the Beastie Boys, AC/DC, Anvil, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, Run D.M.C, Public Enemy, Metallica and MegaDeth (not so much anymore), The Prince of Darkness, Duran Duran, Nirvana, and hundreds of others that fall on a similar note.

I hate twitter and Facebook and I don't have either, so I don't have to be mindful of what I say.

I'm currently unemployed and going to school. Again. Great job, go me.

My favorite baseball team? The Los Angeles Dodgers

My favorite drink? Coffee.

Soda? Dr. Pepper

Oh, and I live in California. And I'm "not Hispanic or Latino" (that phrase is on every application down here)

How about colors? Maroon.

Well what about food? Steak. New York Strip steak. New York Strip steak cooked over briquettes. New York Strip steak cooked over briquettes that I grilled.

Do you ever buy it at restaurants? No. They use propane and butcher a nice piece and want an arm and a leg as a reward, koff~

Why do you type 'koffi~' or 'koff~' sometimes? It's something new I'm trying. Koff~

Anything else we really don't need to know? I'm excited about the New Super Smash Bros. that is coming out for the 3DS, which is partially the main reason why I'll be picking up the 2DS.

In what color? What?

What color 2DS will you be getting? Oh, blue.

Also, I'm getting the Smash Bros. because of Megaman. I love that guy, and I'm glad he's going to show up in the new one. He's the reason I'll be getting the game in the first place. Also, I recently discovered that I'd be able to purchase the Megaman games 1-6 on the 3DS store, so that's a bonus I look forward to.

My favorite robot master? Heatman.

Anyway, there is a probably a whole bunch more that I could tell you-- oh, I also enjoy films and making people laugh and scratch their heads.

I'll be on my best behavior here.

Hello, fellow Californian! Disregard my "New Hampshire" location as I don't really live there! xD I'm from southern cali, where it's sunny and hot almost all year. xD Welcome to the PokeCommunity, my good sir! It's a pleasure to see you here. :)

Sounds like we got a few things in common...especially COFFEE. YOU CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF COFFEE IN THIS LAND. Here, have a giant cup for your pleasure. :)

I'm more likely going to get the 3DS because well...I still prefer portability and I want 3D on mine, not that I want it to ruin my perfect vision. xD But the 2DS still sounds alright, a lot cheaper though! I'm also looking forward to the new Smash Bros game coming soon as well. I cannot wait to use the Wii Fitness Trainer, because she just looks badass!

But anyways, you will totally love it here! PC is a friendly place filled with friendly people and lots of things to do here! You'll really love the discussions, and the people here. The staff here are also friendly. So don't hesitate to ask questions if you ever have any, and don't drink too much of coffee! (I usually limit myself to two cups a day xD). Why hello there! I'm sorry you're redoing school, I guess you weren't around the "YOLO" era so nobody can say you YOLO'd your way back into school, luckily ^_^ just study hard like you would grind in a Pokémon game & you'll be fine...

Also NEVER be ashamed of playing Pokémon, when my colleagues first saw me play most of them were like "You're playing a kids game, grow up!" but I always responded with "I'll do whatever the hell I want tyvm", surprisingly enough some were like "Wow, I played this too, best childhood game ever!"... Either way I wasn't bothered, but those reactions were in the first days only, after that nobody even cared anymore & I continued playing peacefully ^^

Oh and news flash; coffee is bad if you take too much ;) but hey, so are cigarettes :P

Anyway it's time I stop babbling now, I hope you have a great stay here, this forum isn't just about Pokémon, there's a lot of off-topic discussions in certain sections, take a look around the forum & see for yourself ;)

Just joking. In all seriousness, thank you for the welcome and hospitality. Oh, and I drink 4-6 on average. I have a ten-cup brewer, so it's not hard for me to do.

Also, a tip for good coffee: grind the beans yourself, you'll thank me later. And don't buy the cheap stuff; drink it black or only with a dash of sugar. And for the love of it all, don't drink the blonde roast, koff~

It actually varies by degrees and who you speak with. Coffee mainly comes off as 'bad' because of the stains it can leave on your teeth, or bad because of all the sugar and creams. I brush my teeth after coffee so I reduce my chances of getting stains.

Also, I drink my coffee black, koff~

Thank you for your concern. However, it is almost an insult to me to put cigarettes and coffee in the same 'bad' category, as cigarettes cause far more symptoms than what truth (anti tobacco) tells you. Lung disease is only a small piece of the puzzle.

The fact that smoking causes lung disease and oral cancer isn't exactly news, and only tobacco industry executives would express (feigned) shock at being told. But cigarettes can lead to a whole slew of problems involving every system of your tar-filled body, and most people aren't aware of this.

The American Council on Science and Health's book Cigarettes: What the Warning Label Doesn't Tell You is the first comprehensive look at the medical evidence of all types of harm triggered by smoking. Referencing over 450 articles from medical journals and reviewed by 45 experts- mainly doctors and PhDs- if this doesn't convince you to quit, nothing will.

Among some of the things that cancer sticks do:

Besides cancers of the head, neck, and lungs, ciggies are especially connected to cancers of the bladder, kidney, pancreas, and cervix. Newer evidence is adding leukemia and colorectal cancer to the list. Recent studies have also found at least a doubling of risk among smokers for cancers of the vulva and penis, as well as an eight-fold risk of anal cancer for men and a nine-fold risk for women.

Smoking trashes the ability of blood to flow, which results in a sixteen-fold greater risk of peripheral vascular disease. This triggers pain in the legs and arms, which often leads to an inability to walk and, in some instances, gangrene and/or amputation. Seventy-six percent of all cases are caused by smoking, more than for any other factor, including diabetes, obesity, and high blood pressure.

Smokers are at least two to three times more likely to develop the heartbreak of psoriasis. Even if that doesn't happen, they'll look old before their time. The American Council tells us, "Smokers in their 40s have facial wrinkles similar to those of non-smokers in their 60s."

Smokers require more anesthesia for surgery, and they recover much more slowly. In fact, wounds of all kinds take longer to heal for smokers.

Puffing helps to weaken bones, soft tissue, and spinal discs, causing all kinds of musculoskeletal pain, more broken bones and ruptured discs, and longer healing time. "A non-smoker's leg heals an average of 80 percent faster than a smoker's broken leg."

Smoking is heavily related to osteoporosis, the loss of bone mass, which results in brittle bones and more breaks.

Cigarettes interfere with your ability to have kids. "The fertility rates of women who smoke are about 30 percent lower than those of non-smokers." If you're an idiot who continues to smoke while you're expecting- even in this da7y and age, some people, including stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Courtney Love, do this- you increase the risks of miscarriage, stillbirth, premature birth, low birth weight, underdevelopment, and cleft pallet. If your child is able to survive outside the womb, it will have a heavily elevated risk of crib death (SIDS), allergies, and intellectual impairment.

Smoking also does a serious number on sperm, resulting in more deformed cells, less ability of them to swim, smaller loads, and a drastic decrease in overall number of the little fellas. The larger population of misshapen sperm probably increases the risk of miscarriages and birth defects, so even if mommy doesn't smoke, daddy could still cause problems. What's more, because smoking hurts blood flow, male smokers are at least twice as likely to be unable to get it up.

Besides shutting down blood flow to the little head, smoking interferes with the blood going to the big head in both sexes. This causes one quarter of all strokes. It also makes these strokes more likely to occur earlier in life and more likely to be fatal.

"Depression- whether viewed as a trait, a symptom or a diagnosable disorder- is overrepresented among smokers." Unfortunately, it's unclear how the two are related. Does smoking cause depression, or does depression lead to smoking? Or, most likely, do the two feed on each other in a vicious cycle?

"Smokers experience sudden hearing loss an average of 16 years earlier than do never smokers."

Smokers and former smokers have an increased risk of developing cataracts, abnormal eye movments, inflammation of the optic nerve, permanent blindness from lack of blood flow, and the most severe form of macular degeneration.

Lighting up increases plaque, gum disease, and tooth loss

It also makes it likelier that you'll develop diabetes, stomach ulcers, colon polyps, and Crohn's disease.

Smoking trashes the immune system in myriad ways, with the overall result being that you're more susceptible to disease and allergies.

And let's not forget that second-hand smoke has horrible effects on the estimated 42 percent of toddlers and infants who are forced to inhale it in their homes:

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), children's "passive smoking," as it is called, results in hundreds of thousands of cases of bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections, and worsened asthma. Worse yet, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 702 children younger than one year die each year as a result of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), worsened asthma and serious respiratory infections.

It's very surprising to note that smoking can have a few health benefits. Because they zap women's estrogen levels, cigarettes can lead to less endometriosis and other conditions related to the hormone. Smoking also decreases the risk of developing osteoarthritis in the knees, perhaps because the pliability of thin bones takes some pressure off of the cartilage. And because it jacks up dopamine levels, it helps ward off Parkinson's disease. Of course, these benefits seem to be side effects of the hazards of smoking, so the trade-off hardly seems worth it.

Please don't take personal offense to my defense of the greatest bean of all time. Also, I ripped that entire thing out of a book, so I take no credit. I am very glad to receive a welcome from you, so don't let the coffee defense scare you away!

But don't worry about playing Pokemon regardless of what your age is; I've seen people in their 60s playing the games, I kid you not, so it's pretty amazing. I hope I'll be hooked for many more years to come.

And don't feel embarrassed because of your age! Yeah, some people think that Pokemon is only for kids, but they aren't worth your time, okay? Anyway, those two are my favorites. Mainly because they let me win and they're pretty rad looking (did you ever see a biker that used a Clefairy? I didn't think so). They're fun to use and they're not bidoof. You say every pokemon needs love, and I partially agree. Every pokemon needs love. Except bidoof. Bidoof is a square, koffi~

ooooooo CoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffeeCoffee; Coffee has saved me so much grief when it comes to studying~ ;v; In any case, it's really nice to meet you, CoffeeDrink; I'm sipping a cup of coffee right now for breakfast. Aiiiint that a coincidence. <3

Hm, well, I'm a fan of the third generation of pokemon myself, because it has some amazing pokemon that I can call my personal favorites - liiiike Milotic, Roselia, Flygon, etc, etc. <3 I did like the fourth generation too; it has cool pokemon like Togekiss, Roserade, Gastrodon, etc, etc, and I did think the plot in Gen 4 was really amazing with Team Galactic! I haven't played Pokemon Platinum in a while though, knnnnn. I should prooooobably make a habit of doing so.

Although speaking of cheating, the only time I did was technically Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3,where Gen 1.. everyone knew about that Missingo item clone thing, right? And how to get Mew without gameshark? There was also the cloning glitches in Gen 2 and Gen 3. I'm not sure if it counts as cheating but.. it was just taking advantage of glitches, I suppose!

Mmmm.. steak; I really do love grilling steaks myself! Especially T-Bone steaks... served with grilled Lobster tail, and coligreen mash...
