Kahunas & Trials Return?

    With the Alola Trials bringing on a new take on the traditional Pok?mon Leagues, would you like to see future Generations bringing back trials? Why or why not? Would you rather have a different non-traditional Pok?mon League?
     
    I think the whole trial system with Kahunas and Totem Pok?mon will strictly be for Sun & Moon and any other games that take place in Alola. The trials seem most suited to Alola's environment, that's why it makes sense to have something like that in place for such a region. Kahunas are also linked to Hawaii which makes me thing again that this will just be something that is exclusive to Alola.

    I wouldn't rule out a similar concept for future games, just maybe not in the format of trials as we see them now. Moving forward though, I'm definitely interested to see what direction they take.
     
    Yeah I only seeing this system in place for Sun and Moon, it's alluded to that the Kahunas and stuff are a result of the different culture present in Alola and I think Game Freak will want to make it special and therefore, I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing Gyms again in our next Pokemon advenuture.
     
    I feel like trials suit Alola as a region. I think it could seem kinda forced if they tried including it in future regions. It seems to me like trials and kahunas are very specific to Alola's culture.

    I'd rather we went back to gyms or some other format in the next generation of games.

    (Even though I did like the trials, I didn't like them so much that I'd be sad if we went back to gyms. Sometimes you get a new feature in a game and you just can't imagine going back to the way it was before....but I don't feel like that at all with trials.)
     
    Like the others said, I like this feature but I feel it like a Alola culture only. Maybe the next place will have another culture without gyms? But I would be glad to see the gym coming back.
     
    I feel this system will probably be Alola-only due to all the ties with Hawaiian culture that the region is based on. While it was a nice change of pace, we're most likely going to go back to the traditional Gyms for the 8th Gen region.
     
    Trials as a whole turned out to be not that much different from Gyms: some had really fun, engaging puzzles with memorable Captains (Leaders), and others were extremely boring and forgettable with equally as boring and forgettable Captains. On top of which, there weren't even eight Trials and Captains. Just remembering how the final island of the game was handled, with one Trial not having a Captain, and one Captain not having a Trial, I definitely wouldn't lose any sleep over Trials not returning in future generations. They can definitely stick to the Gym system and just work it out so that the Gym puzzles are more engaging, and maybe even have Gyms be in a wider variety of settings to keep things fresh.
     
    YES. Holy heck the boss battles were unforgettable!
