I try to leave spiders in my room alone so they can catch stuff like mosquitos, moths, flies etc.
But sooner or later they'll be near my bed and I'll have to squish them.

Apparently mosquitos are a problem in Canada but I have had very few bites in two years... Maybe my blood is not as sweet as it used to be when I was eating unheathily!

I generally like bugs, I just don't like them on me. :X

One day when it was raining, I was sitting out on my porch and saw this big gnarly millipede crawling near me. I picked it up and tossed it in the dirt away from me. Much to my surprise, my fingers were covered in this dark, orange liquid. After washing my hand thoroughly, I looked it up. Apparently most millipedes secrete this gross-tasting liquid when distressed, so if something is trying to eat them they will just be dropped in disgust. What scared me for a bit is that it said sometimes this liquid is also poisonous, but thankfully nothing happened. Pro tip: Don't pick up random bugs with your bare hands, lol.

I had a ladybug fly inside my shirt while working once.
Took me a couple minutes to get the thing out alive despite it actually trying to walk towards the opening in my shirt around my neck xD

I've been barraged by little flies and mosquitos and what not while working as well, though they end up on the outside of my shirt. They get no tender hand from me 😈

I generally squash any bug that comes inside my apartment.

I already have to deal enough with bugs at my job. It's the unthankful part of being a programmer.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I'm the weird type of coder that enjoys the bugs. With the bugs It's like I made this brutal puzzle for myself without previously knowing the solution, and when I solve it I get a major sense of relief and satisfaction. But I've kind of taken a break from coding this past month, though it's starting to gnaw at me to start some new project.

Yes, I bet. I mainly use it because I am a lazy person, so I like to write some lines of code to automize things in my life lol. For example, I made a program that helped me memorize things for an exam. I am now working on a discord bot to help me learn Japanese things. I am not a programmer, I use my old knowledge and the basic stuff we learn at uni and then I search on the web. I have very basic skills, yet I can still do pretty helpful things like those. However, as I said before, I am just glad it's not my daily job because I get tired soon and I kinda get angry when things don't work or when I don't understand why. I guess this also happens because I am at the beginning of the learning curve, but I am not truly even willing to improve (because time, because it has nothing to do with what I study lol), especially if there are tools like chatGPT that give you some working code. But, I also have to say that nowadays when I write a code and it works, I kinda feel happy and satisfied.
Back then, when I studied computer engineering, it didn't happen at all.

I'm just hoping that I will be able to do a lot of experimental research with coding in my future career. It does seem to take away from the joy of it if you are basically following a list of someone else's instructions on how to write the program. Then again, I kind of enjoyed that to some degree with my Data Structures class, but if I had to do that all day every week, might be a different story.

I somewhat get what you mean, but I don't like spending a week trying to solve a bug, a few hours are enough!

The only reason why I stuck with it wasn't because I like programming. I just knew eough about it and the alternative would have been to learn something completely new. And in that regard I still have severe problems with motivation and stuff. I really need to get a therapist. <_<

I really need to get a therapist. <_<

*puts on Freud hat*
Tell me about yo mama?

As someone who's been seeing different therapists for over a decade, it is something I would recommend to anyone. Even therapists themselves often see other therapists, so that says a lot. It's all just a matter of finding one that works for you.

What I've been really liking about the Forum Games, especially the 'question game' kind of threads, is that it's let me see some very different viewpoints that I may never have seen or considered otherwise. In several cases, it's even caused me to rethink my own stance on some issues, and that's cool. 8)

I tried three therapists, including one hypnotherapist, but what worked for me was medicine antidepressants ^^"
