4th Gen Legends - Real or not?

Lets do the legendary beasts. What is their connection with Ho-oh? Why do the legends say they are unique but yet you can catch them in so many different places?

This has already been covered. Suicune, Entei, and Raikou were created by Ho-Oh when the Brass Tower in Ecruteak City was burned down. They now serve as the judges of the human race, literally racing across vast distances to observe and judge humans. They report back to Ho-Oh, who travels the skies.

Ho-Oh returned to the Tin Tower when you defeated/captured all three legendary dogs, remember? That's because only someone truly pure of heart, such as the character you played as, could defeat/capture the legendary dogs. Ho-Oh noticed all three falling in battle, and came to test your heart.

I think it's utter crap the way Gamefreak expresses Kyogre and Groudon as "creators of land and sea." Not to mention it contradicts Arceus' info, which said it "created" all. If that's true, then what did Kyogre and Groudon do? It's stupid how Gamefreak tries to make Arceus look like God himself.

It's a pathetic insult to our God himself. It's also a no wonder why Christians hate the Pokemon series so much, I should know, I'm Christian (yet I don't really hate Pokemon) and my whole family is too. They all frown upon me playing the game but I don't mind since I don't worship the characters or anything.

Not quite. Kyogre and Groudon did create the oceans and landmasses, respectively. But they were created by either Mew or Palkia, in order to bring life into this world, and those two were created by Arceus (unless Palkia created Mew at least).

As for the whole Christian bit, I'm also Christian, yet I don't see this as an insult. You see, there are many who consider our faith to be one big contradiction, even though it's really not.
Ohh... sorry ._.

And well about the Legendaries... they stop being legendary once you realize there's about 15,000,000 Zapdos in total world wide.

If the game calls it a "legendary Pokémon", then it is.

yeah :) i realised that it practicaly makes zapdos a rare pokemon not a " legendary " although ive not been on Serebbi in a long time so maybe its an Uber now but not so sure....

that feelllttt gooodddd :)

First, Veekun is better than Serebii could ever hope to be. Second, Zapdos is OU right now. Finally, never do that again.

yeah i'll never do that again! iot was just as kinda 1 off thing ;) and yeah im christain too and i dont see it as insult either and neither do my parents or my sister

Hmm, I don't know if they are real or not. I just played the games. Everyone in the pokemon world seems so naieve, in general, so I think they would believe the myths and even create them because they seem so stupid. So they may not be real.

Oh, it's not like we believe the legends. We know very well that Pokémon is 100% fiction. It's just that Pokémon legends are fun to analyze and talk about.

Then why can you catch them in pkmn colosseum and catch one of them in Kanto. In gold/silver all you need is the rainbow wing, you don't even need to awaken the dogs. There is also more than one Ho-oh. I think your one could be right but only in Johto. The dogs are basically rare pokemon who shared a common ancestor but adapted to suit the enviroment. The ones in Johto may be special as they were brought back to life by ho-oh.

Minos is right, there are in fact multiples of the dogs/ho-oh. However there is only one of each in a region, possibly showing they are territorial animals

No no, I know you all know it is fiction. I'm just saying the in-game myths are mostly just that to the in-game people. I mean, everyone just seems so dumb except for a slight few characters, so most in the game would believe almost everything. o.o

"We don't know how this egg got here, but your Pokemon had it." That is gold, there.

Yeah the game charactors are pretty dumb, but legendwise i can sorta see why. If there was a 20ft tall behemoth living in the icy tower behind you, would you really wanna think about it?
Using snowpoint as a second example, there are various obstacles/organisations that stop you reaching these beasts. Perhaps they are just ignorant of their slumbering existance?

My theory with the Regis is that they were sealed away by ancient people. To make it harder for people to awaken these dangerous creatures they imprisoned them in different regions. They were kept so secret that eventually everyone forgot about them (except for the myth in pacifilog).

That's actually what happened. I was one of the few idiots who translated the entire room of text thinking you needed to, the one part i forgot was the back wall lol

(Bet you were a bit upset to find out most of it was the alphabet...hehe)

So what did Regigigas do to deserve being sealed away forever? (My theory is in the intro to my fanfic)

I think it was humans being humans; we are scared of what we do not understand
Caveman#1: "Look at that huge beast! It is capable of crushing our mud-huts with its feet! Should we ask it politely not to squish us?"
Caveman#2: "Na, lets wait for it to go to sleep and imprison it in a giant tower!"

The phrase that i think of is "Out of sight, out of mind" Perhaps Snowpoint city have been in on it all along

I'm not going to bother reading the multiple pages this thread gained while I was away. It looks like the current topic is Regigigas, so I'll give you my theory on that.

Regigigas probably sealed itself away once its work was done. We can't be sure until the 11th movie, though.

I would agree, but i thought it would seal itself in a cave. It can literally drag continents apart, I dont see why it would bother to build a tower around itself

Perhaps people in ancient times built the Snowpoint Temple as homage to Regigigas?

Na, the story in the regi cave (RSE) just indicates to me it was forced into confinement. The fact that regirock is made of multiple kinds of stone shows that they could have been taken from shinnoh to segregate them from the big fella.

I think its a hint of greek mythology, for instance - Zeus ~ perhaps thats Arceus, perhaps Lugia is Poseidon and the list goes on.

I think its really creative of gamefreak to do these legendarys, but I really do wish they would make it seem like these arn't just words, like perhaps the pokemon moving, roaring and stuff and like seeing it surf on the waves, make a earthquake and perhaps something fall in your way and you have to find out how to get passed it. Like letting the pokemon being more almost active in the game, as normally its just a pokemon sprite standing their, waiting for you to come to it.

By god, you have it my friend! You have found the answer! Zeus had many sons and ones that betrayed him and ones that were other gods! Budgie, you are a genius! Unless someone suggested this before him. xD

Oh it's all as confusing as the Zelda games' story lines! D:

all i am going to say is that Arceus is genuinly the creator of everything, including palkia and dialga. if you're still questioning his mighty power, than just read my signature

I don't know. Those things can move really fast. Perhaps they can run across water, and therefore there is only one of each?
