The wings on this one are especially beautiful. I know a Bug/Water "Volcarona" is highly unlikely, but if it existed, it very easily could look like this.

The top left, and the top right (the one closer to the top than the right to be more specific). The top left one's wings remind me a lot of Vibrava, which also has really pretty wings, and the top right one's book/bug theme stands out the most.

I think it looks really good! The antennae remind me of Victini a bit, were you planning on making it Bug/Fire like Volcarona? The wings remind me of a less over-the-top version of Butterfree's Gigantamax wings as well.

For the horns are kinda meant to be a caterpie reference; like the horn things caterpie has. And for the typing, I thought bug/fairy would fit nicely, giving butterfree a competitive 'refresh'. I made this with legends z to a in mind, and I thought a fairy mega butterfree would fit nicely into the Kalos region.

I can sort of see the resemblance to Caterpie, though they look a bit too upright for the reference to be obvious without color to me. Bug/Fairy is a solid typing idea for sure, and very appropriate for the Kalos region.

View attachment 173529I redesigned mega Venomoth. I made it with a Bug/Dragon type combination in mind.
Is the hair too much?

It's a very cool looking redesign! I especially like the subtle homage to its pre-evolution with the fuzzy body.
And if you weren't going for Bug/Dragon I'd say maybe, but with its type combination in mind I think the hair helps add to the part Dragon look, personally.
(it kinda reminds me of Zekrom's head-tail thing, actually)

That would do mothim justice!

Agreed! It's one of my all time favorite Bug Pokemon. I just love its design, and it feels very underappreciated by the Pokemon community as a whole, which saddens me. So it getting a Mega would hopefully change people's minds about it!
