lisa needs braces

I needed braces (still do) but the primary time I was told that, I was also told they'd have to do several extractions. Only very recently did they say that I need not go through the extractions. It's been 5 stinking years -_- Honestly, I might just not get them.

I got braces when I was like 11 because one of my front teeth was growing outwards at a weird angle. Had them for like a year and a half/two years before getting them off, and then got them on again like a year later for another year and a half (I can't remember why I needed them the second time, i had large gaps or something). I also had a retainer for most of that time (the WORST thing in the world honestly).

pssh well I thought I had a long braces experience but reading some of these has me grateful. i originally got braces back in fourth grade I was actually the first one with braces there. i had braces from fourth grade all the way to 9th grade, november 23 to be precise. during the whole process I've had at least 9 baby teeth pulled. it sucked but in the end I don't have goat teeth so i'm pretty happy. the problem with my teeth was the fact they didn't want to grow and when they grew in they were twisted. my mom wanted me to have nice teeth early but i think getting braces early actually caused me to spend more time with them on.

3 years. Had to have quite some work done, I had too many teeth for my mouth. They had too move all my molar teeth (Don't know if that's the right word?) had to be moved one place forward because by braces. Now my wisdomteeth are coming throuhg, and I'll probably have to get those surgically removed, and then back to braces for a while.

I've always had very straight teeth. My dentist said that I would need braces when I was twelve, but apparently he was wrong, since when I was twelve he said that I didn't need braces.

YAY ME!

I've had braces since April 2013. I haven't had any problems with wires but getting food stuck in your teeth all the time + rubber bands are really annoying as they snap easily / have to be replaced often. Needless to say, I'm glad I'm getting them off this year. The idea of a retainer is bleh though. :(

It's been years since I dealt with the orthodontist. I ended up searching GC for "braces" to find my old posts. I knew my OVP obsession would pay off someday.

First time I got braces was when I was either in 3rd or 4th grade (apparently I was 8). Just the front 4 teeth. They were either not on long, or on for the full time before full braces. I also had an upper jaw expander in my mouth for a bit. Mom had to turn it every night. Was not fun.

I can't quite remember when the full set went on. I remember having a retainer a bit in middle school (I remember losing it!), but I had full braces by 9th grade. I remember wanting red/white bands for Pokemon. 8)

During middle school, I had two different times with headgear at different times to correct my underbite. One was a kind that wrapped around the back of my head, and it was only on when I went to bed. The other went over my face, and was on when I was at home. (I was mercifully allowed to not wear it at school.)

And some time during full braces mode, I got the stupid upper jaw expander again.

I got them off and got my retainer in 10th? grade (past me says I was 15). I still have a permanent one on my 4 bottom teeth. Too poor to go see someone and ask if that's still supposed to be there.

Don't even ask me how many teeth I got pulled. Couldn't even tell you. My best guess is at least 3 different trips. I remember getting baby teeth pulled, and then some of my permanent teeth were pulled too.

According to older posts, I probably had around 7 years of orthodontic work done. But hell if I know. That was over 10 years ago. How bad were my teeth??

I'd say sorry for the tl;dr, but I'm not sorry.
