Log Horizon 2 (MORE DATABASE!)

Also everyone is worrying over Shiroe all the time. Can't the kids in Akihabara worry about someone other than Shiroe? ;;
Um... for example who?
Everyone Akibakotachi know but Shiro and Naotsugu are present in Akiba =D
And Naotsugu has bulk, he can take care of himself =D

Just a quote I found on a LH2 discussion page.
That's a new way how to say your counteraction is rising.

Well it seems like a slow start, but it's just the beginning.
Tetra though. For some reason I don't like her. xD

Damn, I accidentally found spoilers regarding Tetra, and now I have to read the Light Novel to get my curiousity satisfied. x'D

When I find anime I like, I stay away from the source material like Light Novels. The only reason I haven't touched the NGNL novels is because I loved the anime so goddamn much. XD;

But for people thinking that this season is boring or isn't showing as much as it should rather than tell - you should probably get your expectations in check lol. Log Horizon was and probably will always be like this. Any large scale battle that takes place in this show won't actually receive as much focus as it should probably because they'd want to rely more on exposition rather than animation to save funds. This is, pretty much, the case of a poor man's Unlimited Blade Works. Both LH2 and UBW are exposition heavy shows - the only difference is that UBW, when it gets going in terms of fights, just knows how to make your jaws drop and satisfies you. Just isn't the case with LH2.

It was and will always be this light-hearted adventure series with not-so-large a budget and more exposition than action. Like you said Altairis, a little more focus on the battles themselves would be good since they're literally the main aspect this season deals with, yes, but we probably shouldn't expect too much. To top it all off, what we have here is studio DEEN. Were Madhouse, ufotable or MAPPA (Shingeki no Bahamut, Zankyou no Terror) to animate it, I'd be hyped. But DEEN? Nooope.

Meanwhile, I tend to try and find the source material 'cause I love it that much. It's why I immediately started reading NGNL after episode 3. :>

Also, if I love something, I'll read a lot of spoilers about it. If people don't like getting spoiled, then I don't. It'll just make me want to watch it even more. How do you think I found spoilers regarding Tetra? :v

When I get hooked by an anime series, I immediately switch to the source material and never look back.

Hence the huge list of Light Novels lately.

Speaking of which I think they're going to pretty much animate all the available (official, non fan-work) content this season LOL. Hell Kanami Go East side story got merged into the main light novels LOL.

Edit: Episode 4 - Well the Akatsuki character building arc has started it seems.

I'm more excited seeing Souji fight again.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the Adventurers actually talked about Earth's history to Leynessia. I'd be excited to talk about it tbh.

Last episode was reaaaaaally boring. I can't believe they spent a whole episode in nothing...

I thought exactly the same.

I was really bored, too. It is all so boring. Why are we seeing them talking instead of fighting? Why are they explaining raids instead of showing them? It's like, everything wrong with storytelling lol. Show, don't tell.

However, that ending. Please tell me something will happen instead of, you know, the narrator just explaining whatever Soujirou is going to do instead of showing him doing it. Or Soujirou just calling Shiroe.

I don't want to be the one dropping the axe, but really, satelight made sure that even with the heavy narrative LH has, it would never become boring...

Where's your God now Studio DEEN.

They have lost it with the first anime they made.

Indeed. I think the first and last thing they did not ruin was the movie for Patlabor.
But my childhood could be lying to me and they actually did ruin it LOL!

Anyway, hope this gets better :( I really like LH.

I'm probably blind to every flaw when it comes to LH, lol. I didn't find the episode particularly exciting but it didn't bore me either. I already knew LH wouldn't ever be the action anime I wanted it to be but oh well, its DEEN. Whatever, just grateful that this is getting adapted at all. :p

But then again I'm one of those who finds watching Mushishi really, really enjoyable so I guess I'm just okay with most slow/boring things...

Man, Souji looks cooler when he enters his dark side. Next thing you know, I'll be using Dark Souji as my theme.

Why do I like characters like that?
