Love and peace

Obligatory reference aside.

We live in a world with a lot of negativity. As such, it certainly has its negative effects on people; especially those who are not so emotionally strong. Anyways, I know what it's like to deal with all of that stuff. The depression, the anxiety, and the constant need to find some sort of safe haven. Of course there are people out there who do not deal with such problems and are independent enough so that's great for them. They don't have much to worry about.

I guess my point is, is that these past few days have been pretty nice. Getting to speak to a close friend of mine that I know personally, as well as speaking to some new friends here in PC. I definitely have been feeling a lot of love and peace. Because of this, I kinda just feel more open to generate that same type of love and peace to other people and other users on this site. To bring forth at least some shred of positivity.

Anyways, I'm rambling at this point, but I guess The Treehouse allows for such rambling huh?

Aaaanyways, as the first person with an actual contribution to the thread (>~<), I think what you're trying to say is that the world is an ugly place. It's true, it is. Personally, I think that's precisely what should drive us to do our best to find happiness where we can. Every little smile counts, right? It's hard to imagine a world consisting entirely of "love and peace" but it's nice to try, isn't it? Like you mentioned, even a shred of positivity helps make someone's day a bit better ^.^

I can't say I'm a particularly positive person, but...eh, I don't begrudge other people happiness. This is a depressing world, and you need to grab what you can, whilst you can. So good for you if you can.

I blame the media, at least in part. Switch on the news these days and it's either about disasters, diseases or the dead and dying...or a celebrity doing things nobody would care about if it was any other person doing them. Happiness is not something widely broadcasted in the world, because it doesn't make for interesting viewing. Unfortunately.

I think I'm generally a positive person. Obviously I'm not happy all of the time, but I think I'm alright for the most part. I'm mainly posting here because of that pic and quote, I'm not going to lie. lol I think everyone that posts in this thread is gonna have some sort of screenshot or gif to post about it, haha.

one of my teacher's dismissed us everyday by saying "peace, love, and joy". It became mundane after hearing it literally every day, and he may not have meant it to be life changing, but looking back, it sorta resonates with you. Everyone who had him will jokingly reminisce about his antics, but after being away from his classroom for so long and never hearing those words from him again, I think we sometimes need those daily reminders of what's important, and how it's worth putting up with all the negatives to fight for the positives
