Low-rated anime, but you enjoyed it anyways.

Did you ever pick an anime that was rated low and had bad reviews, but you somehow enjoyed it eventually? What were some of the low-rated anime you watched?

I'd have the generic anime such as Nagasarete Airantou, Kanokon or To Love-Ru they have both gotten bad reviews due to their predictability, stupid story lines and excessive fan service.....but i really liked them all.

Then there's the overly cutesy K-On!! which I liked for some reason. I would also have to say Pokemon, it gets bed reviews from 97% of people my age but still i like it.

Pokémon is probably the perfect example of a low-rated animé and yet people, as I, like it and never seem to get bored with it. Some other animé would be Tactical Roar, Koi Koi 7, Yumeria...

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Bleach, Sailor Moon (Dubbed) and pokemon.
Only my brain knows why I love 'em but why?! XD

I guess Sora no Woto counts (7.54 aggregate on MAL). Most people pass it off as K-On! in military outfits, but I enjoyed Sora no Woto while found K-On! a pain to go through. The characters in Sora aren't there to just be moe blobs moe-blobbing around - though they do plenty of that - but they have meaning in their dialogue.

Another would be Duel Masters. Granted, the version which took the story seriously would probably be awful, but the dubbers realized this and made the dialogue incredibly funny and enjoyable. I enjoyed the dub more than any version of Yu-Gi-Oh I've came across.

    The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
    Rated low

You best be talking about Endless Eight and Sigh season.

Seitokai no Ichizon. I absolutely adore this show. I. JUST. DO.
Sora no Woto was enjoyable as well, if a little more sidetracked than it should have been. The whole "K-ON! with military outfits" thing that was floating around at the time of its release didn't help its reception at all.

OMG BT'X FOREVER AND EVER EVER EVER EVER!!!!
PLEASE SOMEONE THAT KNOWS BT'X TAKL TO ME!!!!! I feel lonely when it comes to BT'X xD

I wouldn't consider most of the anime mentioned in this thread to be low rated... and if they are, then whoever is doing the rating is crazy, because they should be 10/10.

Princess Tutu. It doesn't necessarily get bad reviews, nor is it really rated low, rather, it's generally really good. The main problem is that people wouldn't be caught dead watching an anime called Princess Tutu, so they ignore it.

There are more out there, but that'll have to wait til I actually have constant access to a working computer. Just to throw some out there, Kaiji, Akagi, most of the older anime out there, sports anime to the most part, some mecha shows.

Bleach gets some bad reviews, but im really digging the manga right now.

What about high rated shows you dislike? I for one can't stand Naruto. And before you say i haven't tried it i watched the first 90 episodes, but i couldn't get into it. It's allright, but nothing special like it's made out to be imo.

Another one which got TERRIBLE reviews was the manga "No Bra". Yeah, i liked it, it was weird, i don't care :)

Pokémon is always and will always be rated low by many people, since it is a kids show in their mind. And it's one actually, but I really like to watch it and can't care less of what others say about it.

Another is Black Cat. I really don't see people talking about it that much, though it has a fair amount of good reviews, it is still very underrated. It's not in my top anime, but I enjoyed it very much and the characters are likable.

Chrome Shelled Regios is one of the most unique anime plots I have ever seen, and yet people call it cliche. It's actually a very entertaining anime to watch, the art is wonderful, and the characters are NOT generic.

The Black Rock Shooter OVA immediately comes to mind. Everywhere you turn, people are calling it crap... but I couldn't have been more happy with it. ):

Kobato, it's CLAMP, so there's going to be some haters going on, but it's really good... if you're patient enough. I guess Queen's Blade, too, since of the content.

    -Bleach (I don't know why it's low-rated)
-Yu-Gi-Oh! (the ratings for it must have gone down because of the English dub, right?)
    -Digimon (for a time)

Does the dubbed Sailor Moon count?

I think I just love it because I remember watching it when I was younger!

I was so into Zoids for a long time when I was little. I'd get up early every morning to watch it, and loved it to bits.

The one that springs to mind, though, is Kampfer. People slam it as a 'plotless blob of lesbians' (direct quote btw), and hell, maybe it is, but I found that I liked it an awful lot. (no it wasn't just because of the fanservice what are you saying D=) It's rubbish, but I love it.

Also Pokemon and Sailor Moon, and I suppose you could count Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu.

And goddamn it, point me to these people calling the BRS OVA crap and let me shoot them.
