It so suprising that I haven't posted in my blog in a long time. I think it's time to update it with a Heart Gold entry. (gasp)
So, today, I defeated Morty. He proved to be quite a challenge but I was up for it. He started off by sending out his Gastly while I sent out Yanma. I knew Yanma was at a type disadvantage, however, I wanted it to gain some experience so I quickly switched it out and replaced it with my Croconaw - who dealt with it using Bite.
Next, he sent out his Gengar and I responded by sending out Yanma again - experience is good. I quickly switched back to Croconaw and he uses Shadow Ball. It hit hard, taking Croconaw's HP down to the yellows and reducing my special defence. I knew it was done for and I couldn't afford a Shadow Ball critical hit if I switched Pokemon, so I let Croconaw take the hit. With the score at 1-1, I decided to bring in my newly evolved Crobat. It OHKO'd the Gengar with three bites - two bites took it down to red and then he used a hyper potion - the third was a critical hit, yay.
Finally, he brought out his last Pokemon - another Haunter. I decided to bring out Gastly to see how strong it really is. He starts off with Sucker Punch but I used Hypnosis so it failed. Once his Haunter fell asleep, I used Confuse Ray to really annoy him. It woke up on the third go and use curse. Oh noes. D: However, I got lucky and it hurt itself twice due to confusion. Then, I finished off with Night Shade. Game, set, match.
