    Main Street Community Poll #1 - The Region Name

    Welcome to our Community Region poll! Here, we will all work together to create our very own custom made region! If you would like to participate, look no further! We're opening a series of polls for you to vote on what the region should have / what should it do, until it's complete.

    So, on this thread, we're focusing on naming the region. Here, feel free to suggest a name for this region. Any one can suggest a name, as well as an explanation on why they've chosen that particular name, if they'd like. Every idea will be included in the final poll - see what you can come up with!

    Just suggest any one name, as long as it's appropriate!

    Things to consider:
    • Why did you choose the name for that region?
    • How will it relate to the region's possible backstory you could come up with?
    • How does this name relate to the region's people and pokemon?

    Interesting idea...

    I'd call it the Tsuchi Region, because I see it as a more earthy, rural region, and tsuchi means earth (like the ground under our feet) in Japanese (idk I just love Japanese words). The region itself is inhabited by a feudal, medieval-style population. The region's society was released from a reign of darkness when a legendary Pokemon trainer (unnamed) rose up, with the help of Arceus, and drove the forces of evil away from that region. This trainer was then unanimously selected by his people to rule over them in the form of a new kingdom.

    The people there are extremely family-oriented, but many still venture off and become trainers. There is a large community of powerful, strong-willed trainers there that are constantly fighting to see who's the best. In general, people are very kind and love to follow their dreams. Most people tend to treat total strangers as family, creating strong relationships between many people.

    The whole point is for this to be something we build together as a community. So I'm going to go with suggesting the Concordia Region. Concordia is a Latin word meaning harmony, unity etc.

    I imagine the region as a cultural and scientific hub in the Pokemon world. A melting pot and progressive region where people are pursuing their piece of the good life.
     
    Mestolis.
    This name seems like the combination of mystery and metropolis. This region should be a mixture of some big cities(like in BW, but more advanced), some mysterious(kinda spooky) places, and some fresh areas, good looking country.

    Cool name, good logic, and much better than what i had thought. Wishing a good luck to this name.
     
    The Sidera Region

    "Sidera" is Latin for "constellations". A constellation is a collection of stars that suggest a whole picture. The members are the stars, the picture is the region they make together. (I know I'm blatantly copying gimmepie's theme, but whatever, it's a good theme.)

    Stars were used for navigation and travel so I imagine a region of worldly people or people always on the go. Stars in general suggest light and beauty and generally a star is anyone famous so this would be a happening, bright, artsy region full of talented people.

    I like this, but I think I'd prefer Mystolis to make the mystery part more prominent.

    how about: The Garragoes Region (from farragoes, which means mixture)

    i imagine PC's region to be a diverse land of forests, tundras, mountains and seas, a plethora of towns and cities donning a piece of the region's rich culture and lore.
