Manly Tears - Most Depressing Moments in Anime

I... have actually never actually cried, but inwardly, I was incredibly depressed by Grave of the Fireflies, and quite a few FMA episodes, like the chimera one. I also felt pretty bad for Sasuke in Naruto Shippuden when

he killed Itachi and was then told that Itachi was good guy who cared for him.

Also when I was younger and watching DBZ for the first time, and didn't ever see a death depicted in 'cartoons' as I called it then

*sigh* Bleach: Memories of Nobody, the end, when Senna is dead and everyone forgets who she was. I find that kind of death to be particularly sad in all animes I watch. no tears as such, but it was heartwrenching.

Oh, and-

Azumanga Daioh, the very end. Depressing, I thought, because there was that knowledge that this was the end, once and for all. Although, the Very Short AD Movie kinda made up for it.

The moment when Al and Ed first realized what happened to Nina, from her own father nonetheless. There are a lot of sad moments in FMA, but this is the biggest for me.

From Heartcatch PreCure:

When Nanami recieves the carnation from her little sister on Mother's Day. I was hoping the episode would end like that, and I was glad to see it did.

And From Angel Beats:

Yui's final moments with Hinata before she passes on.

All but the FMA one were depressing to a point, but from looking at them as a whole, they would result in happy tears. xD

...yeah. Not horribly depressing, but definitely a tearjerker moment.

If you know what I'm talking about, yeah... I won't spoil it for the rest, though.

2. Zero No Tsukaima - Last episode in season 2...beautiful way to die...I was really sobbing, with 2 boxes worth of tissue paper on my desk...the whole emotion and mood was ruined by the ending though... Dx

Yeah, I know it isn't anime, but I was extremely sad when Dragon Knight, Wraith, Siren, and Camo were vented. Camo especially, because it was during a time in the series when venting was still a vague concept.

Kamen Rider Kabuto

The scene with Tendou and Kagami right before Kagami gives up his Zecter for TheBee. Emotions ran pretty high there.

True Tears: OMG so many man tear moments in that, mostly nearing the end though.

Come on, people, there's no contest here. Anyone who's mentioning Bleach or Naruto or anything that's remotely related to Shonen Jump needs to see sadder material. And so, I now invoke the saddest movie ever made: Grave of the Fireflies.

The only competition is which part of that movie is the saddest. I would say it's this one:

When Setsuko is hallucinating shortly before her death, and tries to eat a marble, thinking that it's a fruit drop.

Yeah, that... Was the only part of the series that actually caused tears.

The first death was ruined by the fact that I was laughing hysterically during the massacre.

The third and final was... Just awesome.

However, Bartley's death was more of a Big No moment, because... He deserved more time, man!




...oh, and I didn't cry during Grave of the Fireflies. Began choking up at the end, and I even tried to force tears, but...

Ugh, I rarely during any anime that I watch, but at the same anime is one of the only things that manages to make me cry. There are so few moments out of all that I've seen, that I can probably fit them all in a list shorter than 6 numbers long. xD; /starts

I think I was crying to the point where I had my head in my hands. >__> Partially because of what she reveals, and partially because of their reactions to it. It's months later, and I still sadface at it. D: see?
