Max and the R/S remake acknowledgement

    Okay, so most people (including myself) treat it as fact that R/S (or possible E) will be remade. So what do you think the anime will do to acknowledge this?

    I could imagine the Battle Frontier or Contests re-appearing, albeit more in the style of Pokéthlon in DP than Battle Frontier in Advance. I also originally had this idea of Max appearing in the same clothes as the protagonist of the remakes. However, we've already seen Brendan in cameos...

    Then I realised that Max promised to return to a Ralts he met when he could become a trainer. This may be his starter, right?
    So I was thinking that maybe Max would appear, dressed like Wally or Brendan (both are unlikely, but make sense in their own ways - he is Norman's son, and from Petalburg City, and supposedly should end up with a Ralts), and battle Ash as part of a few-episode saga. Obviously, Ash'd probably lose...although I'd rather he proved that he's pretty good and beat Max. Maybe even using his Hoenn team.

    What do you guys think of my theory? Do you have your own?

    n.b. of course it's likely that May will return...but I'd rather have both, or just Max with some character development.
     
    darn,that is a good idea,he should be old for a trainer's lincence* by now,even if he is now older then the time frozen ash.
     
    I feel that would be quite a cool idea, but seeing as ash is still 10 years old, this wouldn't make any sense. We would have ash being a 13 year old then, which he isn't.
     
    Cool idea, though I must say that I feel this is one match Ash wouldn't lose.
     
    That would be a neat concept to see an older version of Max, as well as the Battle Frontier and Contests making comebacks, but that would kill the point of Ash not aging as the series go on.
     
    Yeah...But I'm sure in a few episodes it's been mentioned that Team Rocket have been after them for years...so I've come to the conclusion that Ash and people simply haven't gone through puberty, and Brock shaves every day. Hence no visible signs of ageing.
     
    I'd rather just see May return since I never liked Max and I still find him the most annoying main character to date. Or possibly just a whole new character like the male protagonist in the games.
     
    I like your idea, but with some improvment:

    Ash, Iris, and Cilan are heading to the final tournament thing (Assuming this is where the anime is when NewRuby and NewSapphire come out) when all of a sudden a gallade pops out of thin air. Dramatically, a slightly older max wearing a cape comes out from behind it! "It's been a long time, ash!" CUE THEMESONG!

    Max, who has become a very strong trainer, challenges ash to a battle. Cilan and Iris ask some questions, and everybody gets ready for the pokemon battle to begin! Max calls out his gallade, ash his pikachu, when all of a sudden, the gallade's eyes go all strange, and it dissapears. Episode is all about team plasma making sweet-scent traps for pokemon, then taking them away for "liberation". Everything ends out good, and the episode ends with the battle starting.

    The next episode is the battle, where ash decides to train with his old hoenn pokemon, and the two have an epic battle. Ash's corphis evolves in time to beat max's mightyena, and the battle is decided a tie. The two shake hands and max tells them some news..... he is entering the tourney, along with his sister, may, and he plans on winning the next time!
