EZEKIEL PRINCE
"Keep up." Jay had said, before becoming a blur in the distance. Zeke grinned; this guy was going to be fun.
Zeke caught up with Jay with ease, both of them matched in speed. If anything Jay was faster, but Zeke could run rings around anyone when it came to stamina, if the right resources were about. It was only a matter of seconds before the two had stopped outside of the stadium.
Holding up a hand to signal Jay to stay where he was, Zeke turned transparent and walked in through the entrance. From what he'd imagined, he looked a little like the shifting convection in the air on hot days, which was more than enough invisibility for now. As he saw the stadium grounds, dotted with mutants, his black mouth opened into a maniacal smile. Zeke returned to full visibility and gestured to Jay, lurking in the doorway. When he arrived next to him, Zeke held out his arms.
"Watch this."
A bright blue ripple of light travelled from Zeke's chest to his fingertips, and seemingly disappeared. The air shifted from him a little, milliseconds before the disused stadium lights exploded in a fiery display of shattered glass. Cackling slightly, Zeke ran onto the field and stood in full view of the mutants.
"Hello, boys and girls. Are you ready for some fun?"
APOLLA
"Kit." Apolla said, yet again. "Do you know what this means?" She fought to stay calm, urging the panic to leave her voice. Kit however, hadn't seem to notice it at all. Her tail and ears drooped, and she whimpered like a dog awaiting punishment. Immediately, Apolla softened.
"Look, Kit. I really think this is a bad idea. How do we know we can trust her?"
Apolla looked over to the strange girl with apprehension, feeling sick to her stomach.
"And she can barely control her powers. How can we stay under the radar if she has a tendency to blow up like that?"
Kneeling on the plastic grass, Apolla grew level with Kit. Her green eyes bore into Kit's silver ones. Somehow, she knew Kit wasn't going to let this go. And Apolla never had the heart to say no to her.
"She's dangerous, Kit. You saw that explosion. Even if she is on our side, she could burn us to a crisp in seconds. I just really—"
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
Apolla jumped into the air as the light above her exploded, spitting shards of glass over the field. All traces of panic were replaced with adrenaline as she recognised an attack.
"Storm! Kit! Positions!" She yelled, as a familiar Scarer ran onto the pitch.
"Hello, boys and girls. Are you ready for some fun?" He yelled. His blackened mouth, sloping gait, inky black eyes... Apolla had run into this guy plenty of times before.
Oh, you can bet on it.
