metal music?

Whats wrong with dance? So what its not as bad as your friends looking at you strangely after they scrolled through metallica maiden system bodom sabbath and boom Eurythmics. Oh and Some other 80s techno that i do not remember the artists but the song names. Also bad luck for you. I got to go to rockwave 07 for Metallica when i was 13. It was plain freaking awesome.
 
A lot of the bands named here aren't actual "Metal", and are just metal subgenres/-core or nu-metal(nothing against -core, I prefer it over metal and death, but most nu-metal is mainstream and horrible), or just older metal. I'm not into older metal like Metallica or Pantera anymore. But lately I've been listening to more deathcore and metalcore, but for actual newer Metal and Death Metal the bands and -core included I've been into lately probably like Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, It Dies Today, The Acacia Strain, Chelsea Grin, My Hero Is Me, etc.

Metallica doesn't really scream. They just have a very aggressive vocalist, Rock on James Hetfield.

Slipknot has a few hits with me, but I am not into the whole band itself. I get a lot of their material from Slayer.

But my favs of Slipknot are:

-All Hope is Gone
-Iowa
 
I think Slipknot are just kind of a hot-blooded band when they came out and their fan base will go down a lot at some point. Don't get me wrong, I still think they're alright, but they're just really overrated and basically mainstream. lol don't even get me started on Metallica. I've seen like 60 year olds that know who Metallica is. But yeah, idk, there's no real element to either that makes them that great sounding. and Corey Taylor IS a good singer, it's just he doesn't scream properly, he just kind of raises his voice if you really listen,

Good for you. I not only cant stand it but i want to keep a good social status. I mean people can understand maiden and metallica and even SoaD but when it comes that kind of music they are all wuh to you?

I mainly listen to black, folk, death and thrash. I don't class Bullet For My Valentine as proper metal. They are metalcore, which... isn't metal.

Also, James Hetfield doesn't scream. His vocals are just harsh. Same as Corey Taylor: he yells. He doesn't growl or scream. It's just yelling. :3

Screaming is best with black metal. Black metal's screams, shrieks and rasps are awesome. Growling and snarling in like, death bands is also amazing.

Anyway. Yeah.

Actually, most people where I live prefer Metal with screaming. That, or emo or rap. xP

Sure, you can't understand it, but lyrics sites are there for a reason. Plus, I don't really care what the lyrics are saying; it's the music that counts.

I am honestly tired of Oli Sykes(Bring Me The Horizon), im sick of all the fan girls that think hes hot thinking he is the greatest singer ever because personally i find him horendous(spelling). His lyrics are simply awful and his vocals are simply awful, iv never heard another singer sing through their nose more then he does
The entire band is awful to be honest
The guitar is awfully played and out of timing, aswell with the drums.

I agree with Corey Taylor's singing though

Oli actually is pretty good at screams, especially highs. And not everyone on vox can do screams that good, seeing as screaming will always be harder that singing. I personally like BMTH, but the Edge of Your Seat-Blessings era deathcore stuff is so much better than the newer BMTH. I like newer and older, but I just prefer the older. They're both good in their own ways.

I probly should have mentioned i was talking about the newer stuff, his older stuff is great but the new songs like diamonds arent forever or basically anything off suicide season i find awful.

DV, it's the oppisite for me. But these scene-fans need to get over it.

Suicide season is a great album, i agree.
But compared to CYB, the vocals don't compare.
It sounds good, yes.
But the 'core-scream' he does on SS takes a lot less skill and in my opinion isn't as pleasing to listen to as his death scream.

There is my reason why I am so good at left4dead. Without being a douche and choosing the infected side though. But i do get away with a lot of headshots.
