[News] METROID PRIME 4!!!

I mean, there were some great announcements at E3 (even though there were a LOT of flops as well imo), but one of the most hype things from Nintendo being announced was definitely Metroid Prime 4.

I was watching live with my friend and we started popping off so hard when we saw the announcement. I love Metroid, but not like my friend does. He was so close to tears omfg he was like " I've been waiting so long for this".

Anyways, thoughts? Feelings? Opinions? I'm curious to hear how you feel about this.

It was just a logo so nothing to get to hype over but I am happy for the Metroid fans who were begging for a Prime game.
I'm more interested in the Metroid 2 remake. No wonder Nintendo shut down that indie project lol.

I think it's about time they gave us a game we actually wanted in the Metroid franchise. Not only that, they're giving us two Metroid games, both of which I've got to say I'm very hyped up for. I never played Metroid Prime until I got Nintendon't working on my old Wii, and I have to say what I experienced in that game alone left me chomping at the bit for more, so I welcome a new addition to the Prime games.

Very happy to hear this. As this post is the first time I heard of the news, do we know who is developing it? If it's the devs behind Metroid Prime 1 & 2, I'll be ecstatic. That company was amazing.

This announcement may be the push I need to buy a Switch. Fucking love Metroid.

Tbh I'm not sure if they said who the dev is. Either way, I'm also a bit tempted to get/save up for a Switch now.

So I'm mixed because this is the company that made the Castlevania: Lord of Shadows games. For one thing, I fucking loved those games. However, I also know that those games did have their flaws (bad camera angles at times, for example). So we'll see when actual gameplay comes out.

If anything, we'll know that the music for the game will be absolutely superb is its anything like those games. Lord of Shadows has one of the best gaming soundtracks I've ever heard, which will be sick for the atmospheric music of the Metroid universe.

To be clear, MercurySteam is developing Samus Returns, not Prime 4. Prime 4 is being developed by a new team that's overseen by Tanabe, who produced all of the previous Prime games. It's like Prime 1 all over again, since that was Retro's first completed game too. Retro is supposedly working on a new IP.

Anyway, this made my day!! I thought they had given up on Metroid. Now I need to finish playing all the 2D Metroids to get hyped.
