A: fungus are in another group (i forget which), and need to survive on other organisms, while plants do not.
 
Good one, because most fungus are parasitic and saprophytic. But some plants are like that too(mistletoe for one, and the dodder). But that's not the precise answer.

Hint: It's a component in the fungus's cell wall.

Answer: Fungi cells have chitin(some bacterias have it too, but they're eukaryotic, not prokaryotic), while plants have cellulose. VM me if you don't understand.
