Misadventures at Hogwarts: Term 2

Cassidy had found herself at the library, now cooled off a bit from her encounter with Andrew. She was still frustrated, and still upset, but she didn't let it show, as her father had taught her to do. She saw Josh transforming his ears with greater success than yesterday. She smiled and gave him a thumbs-up.

Cassidy browsed the shelves lightly, not sure what she wanted to read. She could touch up on potion ingredients, but she was well familliar with those already. She had worked really hard in Potions, and hoped to earn a good grade. She passed the Charms books, and shook her head. She was pretty good with spells, despite her lacking of magical ability...compared to Andrew anyway.

Next was a section on Quiddich. She grabbed a few books eagerly, and sat down in a quiet corner to read. Outside, the snow storm raged. She hoped that Quiddich practice wouldn't be cancelled, but only fools would go out in this weather!

Andrew's barn owl came whizzing through the Slytherin common room, and found him with a warm water bottle over his stomach in his bed. The owl dropped off the package containing the gifts Andrew had asked for, and took off again, hoping to let him rest.

Andrew opened the satchel to find a mix up. He had Cassidy's gifts instead! Muttering to himself unhappily, he got ready for dinner, and brought the satchel with him, to exchange with Cassidy.

***

Cassidy had finished her reading, and headed down to the Great Hall for dinner. Kaze flew through the Hall, and dropped a package in her lap. It was considerable smaller than she thought it would be, and then she realized why. Kaze had Andrew's package! She moaned to herself, but decided to exchange with Andrew once he came in...

And sure enough, it was then that he chose to enter...

I shook my head, and decided to go to the lake. I couldn't explain. "Nothing. I ah, am going to swim, don't worry about me!" I said in the midst of tears, then ran away as quickly as I could, to the lake...

I watched Terra run away. I was shocked. I transformed into a falcon, and flew around the find Cassidy. I flew into the Great Hall, and found her. I started pulling her with my feet. I shreiked. The whole Great Hall looked at Cassidy and I.

"Uh oh." I snapped out of her clench, ran outside-rash but the only thing I could do- and then....
I was at the lake. I took off my robes, shoes, and socks, and quickly dove in.
Once I was done transforming, I swam deeper... Deeper.... Deeper....
I needed some time to think.

"What is it, Karli?" Cassidy demanded, spinning her head to look at the falcon so fast that her hair swished into her face. She brushed it away fiercely. "What's wrong?"

Before Karli could answer her, Andrew had walked over to them. His expression was cold to Cassidy. He extended his satched of gifts.

"They sent me the wrong one," he said coarsely.

"Yeah, fine," Cassidy said, exchanging the packages. "Here."

Andrew walked away stiffly, and took his seat with the Slytherins. Cassidy scolwed at him as he left, and looked back at Karli. By now, Cassidy had eaten all she was going to, and was worried about why Karli was so urgent.

"What's going on?" she asked again.

"I hope she'll be OK!" I said going back to my book. I kept practicing. I may have gotten better but I could only transform my ears the same length.
Oh well! I thought It's better than no tranforming!

Once I was deeper, I noticed I had absent mindedly gone near the merpeople's village.
Should I go in? Or should I not? I pondered, looking at it.

I flew away, trying to get Cassidy to follow me. I flew outside, and started to fly over the water. My feet were skimming it. Something grabbed me, and threw me into the water. My necklace started to glow. I sunk down to the bottom. Whatever through me in, kept me there.

"HUH?!" I was looking up, and saw a glow from were I was floating.
"Oh no, it can't be... Not again." I swam as fast as I could up, and saw Karli, as a bird, drowning....
It was some unknown creature, not the squid, not the merpeople...
Grabbing her, I struggled to her loose.
Once I did, the thing aimed something sharp at me, but missed.
Starting to swim up, I then felt it try to get me again.
And again.
Again.
Finally, it succeeded, making a small cut appear in my arm, that started bleeding... I kept swiming.... Poof!
We were out.
I put Karli on the shoare gently, and looking around, called to Cassidy. "Casssidyyy!" I wailed, then realizing what I did, clamped a hand over my mouth. I wailed?

My whole body was frozen, and the only emotion I could feel was fear.

Berii had just finished wrapping the gifts she had for her friends. Her parents added something hand-made (which were so beautiful) for each gift she bought.

She reviewed all the gifts again, just to make sure she didn't leave anything.

"Let's see...

For Terra- A gold bracelet with the snitch as the pendant (which she made herself) and a nicely sewn green shirt with nature designs.

For Karli- A cute stuffed animal, it was a unicorn, and some cute clothes for the unicorn to wear.

For Johann- A black shirt with dragon designs and a nicely done painting of a dragon.

For Cassidy- A book about Martial Art techniques, and a cute doll, it was a girl with curly hair, has blushes on the cheeks, wearing a cute sailor outfit.

For Josh- A plain shirt and a box of paint and markers (a make your own design shirt) and a painting of Terra and him, holding hands (Berii sent a picture n_n)

...guess it's all complete." she paused. "What about Andy?" she asked herself as she searched through all the things Anna sent back to her. She found another doll, it was very similar to the doll she was going to give to Cassidy but it was a boy, the same clothes but for boys, and the hair was shorter.

It had a note on it and it read: "You can use it, I didn't know why we made it, but it looked so cute with the other doll!" it was in her mom's writing.

"That's perfect!" she exlaimed as she got out the wrapping paper. When she was done she streched out her arms and went outside.

OOC: I wanted to be different! Mine is all muggle things. Oh, and all the things after the 'and' were the 'beautiful' hand-made things.

I looked down at Karli, and then weakly got out, took her up, and moved away from the lake as far as I could... Then placed her there gently, under a nearby bush.
"I'll be back soon... I'm so sorry Karli... I'm such a idiot...."
Feeling the need for water, I wailed "Casssssssidy!Come please! Under the bush!Karli's in trouble!" Then, I quickly dragged myself back to the water.
OOC: That's kewl, Mari.^^

My medallion was still glowing. My whole body was covered with water, and blood poured from my ankles and chest. Inside my head, I was having a dream. It was all mixed up with my life.

There was a picture of a falcon, then a man, then my parents, then all my friends. It was all to fast for me to understand.

As Berii wandered around, she heard someone call Cassidy. It was Terra, Berii immidiately ran towards the bush she mentioned.

She saw Karli, she wasn't moving and she was bleeding. "Karli? Karli!" she cried. She kneeled beside her thinking of what to do.

From afar, I saw Berii. "Thaaank you!" I wailed, then went under the water, hoping that the merpeople could help me mend my arm....

Berii nodded as Terra thanked her. She watched as Terra disappeared befor looking back at Karli. She reached for the stick, placed it near Karli and used 'Incendio' on it. "Karli..." she said softly, stroking her head gently.

Once I reached the village again (Thankfully there was no sight of the thing that attacked us) I found a mermaid, and showed her my arm. She looked at me, spoke in a different langauge, then led me into one of the huts.

My wings that were stuck straight up fell down with a thump. The dream replayed in my head constantly. My heart was beating fast, and I wanted to wake up, but I couldnt.

After she had put some kind weed on it, the wound healed, and felt better immeedeantly, only a few pearls of blue-silver blood seeped out sometimes. She also gave me some raw seaweed stuffed with something to eat, which I found delicious. I smiled at her, waved goodbye.... And made my way out of the village, with some seaweed in my hand, swimming as fast as I could....
When I reached the surface, I changed back, still with the weed bandage and the seaweed, and quickly arose from the water, and put on my robes, shoes, and socks, then hurried over to Berii and Karli.

"Whoa! What happened??" Cassidy demanded, reaching the shore shortly after Berii. "Karli!"

The wounds seemed to heal a little with the help of Berii's spell. Cassidy looked down at the bird carefully, eyeing her, thinking what could be done...

"There has to be a potion that could help? What about Madam Pomphrey?" she suggested, and looked towards the castle, biting her lower lip. "Whatever we do, it has to be fast. She doesn't look so good!"

Cassidy scooped the nightmareish Karli in her palms. She followed her tracks in the snow back to the castle, laboring with each step through the thick snow drifts.

"Come on, Berii!" Cassidy called to her friend, as she made for the castle.
