You know what, while we're discussing fiction about Missingno, I bet he's a prototype Porygon rejected by Silph Co. Cool eh?

Question: what would happen if I catched a missingno in my Red or Blue verson and tried to trade it to a person with a yellow verson?
Ive tried that before.... with my friend and we tried to trade it, and when the trade screen came up, it said he had a shiney/diff colour slowpoke. When we tried to trade, it said "The slowpoke is too special to trade" or something like that....

I remember playing red. I still do on my PC. I always use missingno. My missingno is for killing stuff and for fly! :)

Assuming the whole theory with the hexial and stuff is true, what'd happen once you filled up every slot of data by catching a load of Mishingo's? I assume there'd be a massive glitch, or the game would become unplayable. I think the latter is probably true, because I once bought a used copy of gold, and when I turned the game on, it showed a bizarre landscape of random data, and at the bottom of the screen it said, "No windows available for popping". I assume this meant that it had no more available data slots, because the previous owner had found some kind of mishingo equivalent for pokemon gold, or other dangerous glitch, and had hence rendered the entire cartridge unusable.

Hi. Can I Ask What Is Misingo. I Have Played Every Pokemon Game Except D/P And never Encountered A Misingo

Missingno is a glitch pokemon in R/B. It is encountered after talking to the old man who teaches you how to catch pokemon, have him teach you, then immediately fly to Cinnabar and surf on the East coast. The popular theory is that when you are taught by the old man, you're name is replaced by the old man's. It's assumed that this name variable is stored in the same data area of Cinnibar island East coast, so your name's hexidecimal determines what kind of pokemon you can capture on there, and what Missingno will look like. Sometimes it'll look like some random pixels, random sprites, or a ghost Aerodactyl/Kabutops. Some people harshly critizize this glitch because it can freeze the game, crash the game, or mess up the hall of fame. Missingno appears as 000 in the pokedex.

Lv999 is impossible. I believe the max is lv255 or 256... am I right?

*THE FOLLOWING IS NOT ME BOASTING AND ITS 100% TRUE*

I used to be a tiny part of an australian MMO over the internet and we had monster battling in too! but there was a missingno. glitch in it aswell:

When you battle a random hexadecimal number appears for that type of area (e'g the hexidecaimal calculation for Route 1 is Pidgey lvl 2,pidgey lvl 2,pidgey lvl 3,rattata lvl 2,pidgey lvl 5,rattata lvl 4,rattata lvl 5). When you enter a town there is no haxidecimals except your name.
To trigger them though is to battle (e.g the old man in viridian). In Cinnibar OR seafoam OR any where else that has 'halfe land halfe water' has a recording of the last hexidecimals (which is the random viridian name glitch) resulting in over lvl 100 poke's or missingo.. If you change your name at the start pokemon may vary. You may not battle missingno. at ALL!

I have listed the name hex's for pokemon and lvl enjoy:)
