I leveled up my pokemon to level 30 each. Battled all the trainers on the way to Olivine, beat the lighthouse and got the errand from Jasmine. I battled all the trainers by whirl islands and found out that it was the best place to train because tentacools and tentacruels don't do damage to my pokemon unless they use water attacks:) Got the secret potion and defeated Chuck very fast with Nyx. Now I'm battling trainers around the safari zone to level up my pokemon. I'm so dreading the fight against Jasmine. Steel against steel should equal a verrrrry looong battle:(
 
Update on my Dark challenge:
- I get my tenth badge from Erika. Pretty easy.
- Train my team a little bit.
- I'm still wondering when the pokeathlon will let me buy a Dusk Stone. I really want to evolve Murkrow. I want him to learn Night Slash.
- I'm going to do battle frontier to get a Scope Lens. Scope Lens +Night Slash+Super Luck = OHKO a lot of thing
- I will probably try to get a Brightpowder since Tyranitar and Sand Stream and Cacturne Sand Veil. NO one will touch my Cacturne.

Lake of rage

I pwned jasmine, ran into raikou WTF!

Grinded my lv. 7 wooper to lv. 30 quagsire, named aqua

Koed gyrados after going through the lake of rages maze, and I couldn't escape from the magikarp? WTF!

My mum bought me a moon stone, and since my nidorino was weak, I used it on nidorina, now I have a nidoqueen!

Got the two Japanese passwords, now where in hell do I go with them? Lol

Wow, I beat jasmine very easily actually. I thought it was going to take forever but I found out that steelix is weak against fighting so Yin took her out and Steel took out the magnemites:) Then when I was training my pokemon I ran into raikou. It was shiny!!!! I checked to make sure my fiancee didn't leave the all shiny cheat on nthe chip and it was off!!!! My first wild shiny in soulsilver!!!!! Yays!!!!! :) :) :) I'm going to catch it with the masterball when I defeat all the gyms:)

No my scizor is not from the event. The event scizor is in japanese and level 50. Yin was hatched from an egg. Nyx was hatched from an egg that I bred myself trying to get a shiny took over 3000 eggs. Steel was hatched from an egg my fiancee bred via masuda method and it took 655 eggs. The shiny Raikou I found in the wild, he's one of the roaming pokemon that includes Entei. I was resetting my game several times at the beginning to get a shiny cyndaquil so I guess maybe all the resets made the raikou shiny. The shiny Raikou is the third wild shiny that I've found this month. The other two were in my heartgold and one is a spinarak and the other is a caterpie.

Never in my life have I encountered a shiny legendary..
I think the best I've seen is like, a shiny graveler which selfdestructed on me.
 
Ok well here is my first update:


  • Started a new HG save file.
  • Named myself Beo (of course)
  • Recieved Totodile to use as an HM slave since it can learn 4 HMs alone.
  • Caught a Hoot-Hoot and traded to my other game for a Pichu egg.
And that's all I got so far!
 
Updates: I caught the red gyrados at lake of rage and cleared out team rocket from their hideout. Defeated the Pryce and the trainers pretty easily. I then cleared out team rocket from the radio tower and the underground. Went through the ice path and defeated Clair with a little difficulty. Went through Dragon's den to get the badge then after left to reteive the masterball from Professor Elm. Then I was off to chase down my shiny Raikou and catch it with my brand new masterball.....Then I ran into Entei, he was shiny as well....Hmmm, apparently the cheat code for shiny pokemon was on at the time that Entei, Raikou and Suicune were released. Needless to say I gave up trying to catch Raikou. Next up defeating the kimono girls and facing Lugia. Perhaps I will soft reset to get a shiny Lugia. Probably not though because I am eager to finish my steel challenge so that I can start a new challenge:) I will post my team shortly before I sleep.
 
hi everyone

minor update

- cause there are severral type disadvantages in the E4 for my i spent a hole day in victory raod to train my team. they are now all at lv 49 - 50.
- Startet the E4
- Will nearly kicked me out of his room...Bobby finally took slowbro down
- Koga was no real match except Muk and Crobat
- Bruno...Air Slash from Julie and Brave Bird from Chad Lee...He is now history
- Karen is not worth mentioning...Dark is no Math for fighting types
- Lance had to wait, cause i had no time left to play...

I won't be able to start for a couple of days, but I'm going to take the challenge using the Normal-type through HeartGold. I'll trade a Miltank egg over from my SoulSilver game to start me off, and use Totodile as a HM slave for as long as necessary. =]
 
EJ, can you post clarifications on the egg rules in the first post? I could've swore there used to be something, but there doesn't seem to be.

I used spinarak only for the first 2 gyms instead of transferring an anorith, etc, because there are bugs available before then. But I keep seeing people transfer electric/normal/etc eggs over, when they're available before the first gym. (Mareep is available before Falkner, but after you get to Violet City, wheras Furret, Hoot-Hoot, Rattata, Pidgey, etc are available).

Allowing types that are available before the 3rd gym to be traded over... just takes away the challenge of the challenge.

Dark, Ice, Dragon, and a few others I can understand... but normal, bug, poison, flying, etc I don't o_o

I wouldn't have transfered the Pichu Egg over if I wasn't allowed, but EJ told me when signing up I could.

I wasn't pointing anyone out, I'm merely asking for clarification~

I was fine with that, as Mareep is the only electric type for a long time, but still, one is enough to get you through the game til more, but I can see EJ being ok with it, which is why I didn't comment.

But the person transferring a normal type over... that just baffles me.
 
Whew!. Sorry for not uploading yesterday, My internet decided not to work. Anyway some nice man came to fix it and it's working OK again :P

I am at the E4 and will post an update later on :)

I don't think you can trade normal types over since there're so many normal types available early in the game. (Miltank's a beast!)

As Mareep's the only Electric around until after the 4th gym (correct me if I'm wrong), and EJ normally allows two eggs, I guess it's reasonable that he allows it.
