Real Age: 22
Real Gender: Female

Personality: Have you ever met someone who is super lazy? Madalyn considers herself as the biggest slacker people had ever met. If you make her do something, or if she has a big test coming up for a final exam, she'll slack off and won't do them UNTIL the last minute. And yet, she'll get things (even the most important) absolutely done. Part of her, however, she is very ambitious to her goals, both long term and short goal. She already achieved her biggest goal of all: graduating from college, and she is hoping to live a happier life with her long-time boyfriend.

Around people in real life, Madalyn is very loyal and rapid. She talks very fast when she's very excited. She loves to see people happy, and is willing to make people turn that frown upside down if she sees one. However, she'll be the stubborn one herself when she feels sad, not letting anyone make her happy until she is unable to resist. She's also clumsy, making frequent mistakes and letting them happen on a much frequent basis. Her friends are used to her mistakes and her clumsiness, so she always feel confident in herself.

Madalyn has two main fears: darkness and heights (aka claustrophobic and acrophobia). She hasn't gotten over her two fears and she feels that she won't get over them in her lifetime. Even friends have tried to calm her down. But all was failed.


History: Born and raised in a beach town of Ensenada, Mexico, Madalyn grew up on water...well, not really. Her fisherman father owned a beach home south of town. Growing up, she always accompanied her father in several fishing trips every year, bringing home freshly caught fish to ship to supermarket chains all over Mexico. Her favorite food was obviously fish.

Madalyn was an only child. Her parents weren't even married. When her mother had Madalyn, she was barely 16. Her father was 17. She was on the verge to be put up for adoption until her father decided to raise her. Having to drop out of high school and to get a job as a local fisherman just to make ends meet with Madalyn. Her mother didn't agree with her father's plans, so at the age of 2, she moved to the USA to start a new life, leaving her only daughter behind.

Throughout her childhood, Madalyn loved Pokemon. She owned almost every game on every console. Her father even played Pokemon with her at times when they are together. It was also a reward for her success at school, achieving higher marks on most subjects except Math, which was her worst subject ever. The downside, however, Madalyn's friends don't know that she plays Pokemon, as it wasn't as popular in Mexico than in other parts of the world. She would always leave her game at home and wait to get home to play it. By the time she reached high school/college, she entered a Pokemon Tournament Competition held by the school's Associated Student Government. She told her friends that she'll enter, but pretending that she had no prior knowledge of Pokemon whatsoever. After sweeping every round in that competition, she won 1st, not only impressing her friends, but the whole city of Ensenada.

Entering University, she still kept her secret of Pokemon inside of her...despite winning several other local Pokemon Battle Tourneys. She majored in Marine Biology, because she was fascinated by marine life. After four years of university, she finally graduated, and her father gifted her a game she never thought of herself getting: Monster Art Online.

Her life was sweet. She got a job right out of college as a Marine Biologist, continued to become the best competitive Pokemon battler in the city, even while hiding her secret from her friends, and continued to follow the fandom as a whole. One day when she wasn't playing Pokemon, she decided to try out Monster Art Online.

She decided to create a brand new identity to cover up her real one, as she was afraid that people who know her would find her playing the game. For that, she created an avatar that's a lot different from her actual appearance. Her name was changed too, naming herself Parker...and her age was now 18 in the virtual world.

Having long green hair up in a ponytail, and wearing a schoolgirl uniform that is all black, and under that is a striped t-shirt to add a splash of design. She also sports some black military-style boots, which is the only trait she shares with her real life self. She can't go out on a journey without boots.

MAO Summary: The last thing Madalyn wanted to do is to be stuck inside an online world, without a way out.

It was nighttime and Madalyn barely got off work, her job as a marine biologist in Ensenada was doing fantastic. It's been a few days since she started her journey as Parker in MAO. She barely has three Pokemon, KC, Mina, and Sparkle. All of them in very good hands and very good competitors. They are all ready to face the first gym leader of Johto. KC's the Pokemon that wants to have fun during the battle, while Mina's more serious. Sparkle, the most recent Pokemon Parker had caught at this point, has yet to show off her personality.

After her few days of training, and facing off against other players around her, she stops at the front door of Violet City Gym.

My heads going in too many directions with my character (I want him to be a head hot but I've been going back and forth on making him antagonistic or not) and I don't think I'll be able to afford the time to commit to the roleplay anyways. Let's hope someone more capable of committing can take the spot.

Remember that you can choose ANY four pokémon to start with. Either you can choose to be logical and just take your starter and some local early pokémon in your region, or you can go wild and say that you've traded more rare pokémon, so that you can start with what can become your dreamteam.

- I think we'll change a game mechanics rule though. Let's make it possible to have 6 pokémon on your team like in all the old games. Still 6 moves max though! And still, you can't have more than 4 pokémon at the start!

Real Name: Saya Kobayashi
Real Age: 18
Real Gender: Female

Real Appearance: She's about 5'6 weighing in about 120 lbs, which isn't bad for a girl in her height, for her body isn't too skinny, nor too husky. Along with 5 slim fingers on each hand, and 5 slim toes on each of her feet, she has lightly tanned skin along with short black hair that reaches to the top of her shoulders. She also has light blue eyes, a fairly small nose, and a fairly-sized mouth. Saya is a pretty hygienic person when it came to her body. Her fingernails aren't too big, as she regularly cuts them every now and then when she feels that they're just too big, and her skin is overall pretty smooth from conditioning regularly as well.

When it comnes to clothing, Saya isn't very modern with her clothing, however, she regularly still loves to wear what she thought was most comfortable for her. Her family traditionally wears kimonos, in which, Saya usually wears a red kimono covered with white daisies, and cherry blossom flowers. She also wears a light orange obi (the belt that tightens the kimono), laced with a light blue obijime. She also wears white tabi socks, and beige sandles, or in proper terms, zori, and on her hair, she wears a light red kanzashi flower. Finally, her outfit is complete with her green magatama necklace, which was a sort of good luck charm for her. Of course , this outfit isn't her only one, for she can wear different colored kimono combinations, but this style was always her favourite to wear.

Personality: Saya is pretty warm-hearted, gentle, and polite. Conversing with people is no problem with her, as she was always interested on what other people had to say, because she always believed that there was always a certain degree of knowledge that comes from the wisdom of others' experiences. On the other hand, while she may be an actress, her acting skills are pretty poor, and she is really, really clumsy in general. Slipping, falling down on the floor are just a few common occurrences with her, but, she never really let her bad luck bother her that much.

A really irritable side of her is that she's pretty sassy when it came to things that people say that she disagrees with. Perhaps this is just a habit of her, but it happens. She also often gets jealous of other people's successions, or maybe other personal things like love, ability, or otherwise, and her jealousy can often misguide her to push her beyond her abilities. On the other hand, she also has a strong sense of justice when it came to helping people do the right thing, when they have done a bad thing. Sometimes people say that her sense of justice can be misguided, as in, "what people won't know, wouldn't kill them", but, Saya did have a habit on insisting that one should make amends for bad deeds.

A weird side of her is that she's quite the eccentric when it comes to the occult, meaning she believes in ghosts, spirits and so on. She doesn't have a natural fear of them, in fact, she loves talking about the different ghosts, and spirits, in which in this case, she refers them as 'yokai', as it was a term used in her family. She has different waring charms for these yokai, as she believed that they would drive out the evil spirits from people, and only replace it with the good spirits. Of course, she would naturally look weird in the end, but, she only believed it was for the good of others, and for the spirits.

History: Saya was born in a small part of Okinawa, Japan, where cherry blossom trees grew during the season. She was born in a fairly small family: her mother, her uncle, her grandfather, and her grandmother, in a household where they lived in traditional means. Saya lived a simple life, until she turned 10 years old, when she became interested in performances. She joined as an actor on recreation of the play, Cinderella, where she got the lead role of Cinderella. Of course, preparing for this role was a tough step with her. She was really clumsy when it came to remembering her lines, as well as trying to stand up without slipping on her Cinderella dress. Soon she became more and more discouraged, until she got a visit from her family. She was given a magatama, a charm that was used to ward off evil spirits in which her mother explained that the thing that was holding Saya back was the evil spirit in her heart - the spirit of doubt. Finally, Saya racked up the courage to perform in the play, where she was praised for her performance. From then on, she kept the magatama and always returned to performing for audiences.

Despite her family living in traditional means, modern technology wasn't uncommon with the Kobayashis, as they still liked to use cell phones, cars, and even computers. Saya often loved to go on the computer after a hard performance, where she got to unwind to play video games with her friends. Finally, one day when she turned 17, she received a NerveGear for her birthday, and a gift for her for always trying her hardest on her performances. Saya heard of the NerveGear from commercials, where people had the ability to walk in a virtual world, but to get her hands on one was something akin to a dream! Wearing the NerveGear for the first time, she decided to make an avatar that resembled her in a way, but still had her magatama for good luck. It was time for her to play a game she hasn't experienced before...

Avatar Appearance: Click here to see the full appearance! Natsumi has long black hair that is tied up in a pony tail, coupled with a red ribbon. She also wears wears the traditional Japanese dress of a miko. It consists of a pink jacket with sode-kukuri (cords) through the sleeves and open shoulders. She also wears strings called muna-himo which are attached to each lapel and tied in front to keep the garment closed. Natsumi's kosode would be very much like a modern Kendo or Naginata Keikogi, with the sleeve fitting somewhat closely like a modern loose shirt and extending slightly past the wrist. The slits on the side of her hakama, and the openings at the sleeves and shoulders of her hitoe (jacket) showed the white kosode she sported. Natsumi also wears a bright red nagabakama (a very long hakama), which includes the small board on the lower back. Finally, Natsumi wears common tabi (socks) and black sandals. It's all sported by a blue Obi, or belt, over all her other garments.

MAO Summary: Natsumi started off in the Kanto region, which was the region that was most familiar with her. She started off with a Squirtle from the good ol' professor, and raised it the best she could. She beat a few beginner trainers with it, and along the way, she captured a Nidoran near the Viridian Forest. In the Viridian Forest, she caught a Caterpie, where she spent long hours training it into a Metapod, then a Butterfree. Along side her Squirtle, Butterfree, and Nidoran, she finally challenged Brock, the Pewter City gym leader, where she won after a long and vigorous battle, which resulted in her Squirtle evolving into a Wartortle. Soon her Nidoran evolved into a Nidorina, and she faced many more challengers along the way to the next town, Cerulean City. But also along the way, she met with a trainer who disliked his under trained Growlithe, despite being a rare pokemon. So, she traded with the trainer for the Growlithe, for her Butterfree. Hopefully, she would give the Growlithe a better home, to travel alongside her. Her Eevee was revived to her as a gift of finding an NPC a moon stone from Mt. Moon, and bringing it to Cerulean City. Now with four pokemon in hand, Natsumi is almost ready to challenge the second gym.

Auugh, I get an urge to change my pokémon team around again. So indecisive, haha. And also can more people come and join us in Hoenn? 8D Many many in Kanto now haha. Maybe we should focus the start of the RP on one or two or max three regions though. But idk. My plan is for people to plan together in the OOC and make up reasons for their characters to cross each other's paths even if it means traveling between regions. We are all rivals, after all! Or friends?

Well I listed Monferno though I was in Hoenn. Just say you traded, it doesn't really matter much more than where we start. I kind of want to take away the chains that "starting a journey RP as a rookie trainer with your starter" often put on you.

Maybe I should have some kind of rule about trades with NPCs (and other NPC Players in-game) after the start of the RP though. I think we should keep those to a minimum/non-existent :p You can trade with other RPers as much as you want though!
