Most evil team?

Who do you think is the most evil team in the main series games? Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, or Flare?

I would say the most evil and villainous of them all is Rocket. I know that probably sounds like a weird choice because they're the only ones who didn't have a goal to take over the world or alter it to their liking, they're just a group of petty criminals who exploit Pokemon for profit. But to me that's what makes them so bad--they're not a bunch of self-righteous zealots, and they don't try to rationalize their goals to be for the greater good of Pokemon or society. They seem like real life criminals, and they're probably the only group that, if I were in the Pokemon world, I'd be legitimately afraid of. Plus they do some pretty nasty things: cutting off Slowpokes' tails, forcing Magikarp to evolve so they can rip off their scales as Gyarados, killing Cubone's mother -sheds tear- Those guys are seriously bad news.

Which do you feel is the most villainous of the villainous teams?

Magma. Because of the volcano incident. Taking a meteorite and using its power to try to make a volcano erupt is absolutely heartless. Think of all the people that would have died...

Aqua's about even, though, given how they want to flood the planet for no apparent reason.

I think both of those teams' blatant disregard for humanity is why they're the most evil. Rocket is just a bunch of thugs being thugs, and in my mind they'd probably be the easiest to kill.

Even though I think Team Flare is the worst of them all, they practically destroyed a town. There's still a giant gaping hole in Geosenge even after the player saves the world and catches their respective legendary, and even houses tipped over. That's insane. Not to mention, not only did people lose their homes, but whatever Pokemon the people had.

Rocket is right behind them for reasons Cathy already mentioned, like causing harm to Pokemon and being outright thugs.

Also, Plasma should technically have two places on the poll. Team Plasma and Neo Team Plasma. Which, by the way, Neo Team Plasma is my favorite. ;) Snagem should be there too...and Cipher, even though that's a syndicate. They put Team Rocket to shame in terms of harming Pokemon.

It's a tie between Rocket and Galactic solely for Giovanni and Cyrus. They, to me are the most dastardly and frightening bosses I've seen in game. Their disregard for Pokemon is astounding at times, honestly.

Would've voted for Flare, but aside from Lysandre (who is truly evil) they're such a non-entity.

I'm not familiar with the villains of Sinnoh or Kalos, but I have to disagree that Team Rocket is the worst. They know that they're villains; they're evil, but not psychotic. Magma, Aqua, and Plasma - they think they're the good guys. You can't reason with someone like that, and I find that much more terrifying.

It's definitely gotta be Flare, due to all reasons that Everlark's pointed out. :P Team Rocket's pretty evil, too. They would mutate (look at red Gyarados) and cut body parts of Pokémon (Slowpoke would be one example, whose tails would be completely cut out). These things harm them, and I don't think harming Pokémon is a tolerable thing at all in the Pokémon world. Aside from these two, Team Plasma is quite evil, too.

Then again, every single evil team wants to cause unimaginable chaos in some way or another.

Rocket: Create Mewtwo, the most powerful pokemon
Magma: Create more land, which threatens sea Pokémon
Aqua: Create more sea, which threatens both pokemon and humanity
Galactic: Using ancient and powerful pokemon to destroy the world
Plasma: Rule the world with their pokemon (liberation liars)
Flare: Kill everyone in the world except for Flare themselves

Out of all this, Team Flare and Team Galactic seem to be the most threatening, with Team Magma being the least threatening.

I voted for Team Rocket. While the other teams had some pretty crazy goals, the average member was only doing what they thought was the right thing to do it seemed; like Magma and Aqua. I consider the world domination goals of Galactic and Plasma to be more...egotistical (and comical) at best. But when it comes to Team Rocket..it seems like no member had a caring cell in their body. They would beat Pokemon...dismember them...kill them...they are the definition of evil!

You know, I never really thought about it, but you are right Cathy, team rocket is the most "evil" team. If what you are doing is for the greater good then, it can't be called evil. Look at Hitler, he is considered evil, but he was trying to help and restore Germany after WW1. Those intentions aren't evil, only the means to get there. Many of the ingame leaders can be equated into that formula. All except, the most evil of all...team rocket!

Good observation. I can recall various Team Magma members who didn't care much about the leader's goals. That doesn't justify their actions of course, but by that measure Team Rocket is more *thoroughly* evil. From what I can remember though, all of team Plasma in B/W was fully committed to Ghetsis' cause, so they were also thoroughly evil.

And it's true that both Archie and Maxie have a change of heart in the end, but then so does Giovanni. Regardless I personally would rather deal with sane criminals than insane criminals any day. At least we'd both agree who was on the side of justice....

I have to go with Team Flare, because their plan was essentially the equivalent of genocide. And ultimately, in the end the team leader actually harnesses the ultimate weapon and comes super close to immortalizing you (X) or killing you (Y), the former so you could endlessly watch the world crumble. They try to make you think living things aren't happy and only see the bad in the world, which I think takes it for me.

I'd have to disagree with you Cathy. Team Rocket are nothing more than a Mafia. Sure, they're evil in the sense of doing bad things all the time, but did they ever plan a genocide?

Without people to prey on, Team Rocket would be nothing.

Team Magma and Aqua are pretty much a big joke. They're a bunch of radical environmentalists with no sense of reality. Let's blow up a massive volcano in the middle of the island, that'll definitely make more land to live on!

Team Galactic is probably the evilest team. Firstly, most of Team Galactic seemed like they had been brain-washed to some degree (I mean really, who would willingly put on those stupid outfits?). Secondly, they nearly succeeded in the total destruction of the universe! In Platinum, had it not been for Giratina's intervention, Cyrus would've succeeded at creating his new world (or at least, destroying ours). Azelf, Uxie and Mesprit didn't have the power to stop both Dialga and Palkia.

Team Plasma is probably second. Ghetsis had manipulated a child and made him the figure-head of a group of people who thought they were doing the right thing. He also nearly succeeded his goal. If N didn't start forming a bond with the player character and urge them to fight him with the other legendary dragon, Team Plasma would've been able to make everyone release their pokemon. Ghetsis would've easily been able to ursurp N, and take over Unova

I vote for Plasma. More specificaly, I vote for B2W2 Plasma, because while the original Team Plasma were conflicted about whether their cause was honest, the new Team Plasma are all evil, abusive and they freely admit it, instead of coming up with a dumb "we just want to make a better world" excuse.

Soo true hahaha. And when they actually almost achieve their plans, they're all "Omg, what have we done??" It's like they never even thought through their plan.

If you're talking the team as a whole, including grunts, then Rocket takes the cake. They're the only one where the grunts are actually depicted as sadistic and cruel thugs.

In the case of pretty much every other villainous organization, the grunts are naive and misguided idealists, and the only real evil members are the admins in the know to the team's true intentions. Yes, Cyrus, Ghetsis, and Lysandre are al pretty evil and despicable, but they essentially command an army of cosplay nerds. XD

More valid points have been brought up indeed, But I still say that if what you are doing is for the greater "good" in your view then it can't be called true evil. Most of the leaders seen a problem with the way things were and set about plans to change that. They are just trying to be helpful in their own sick and twisted way.

But if all you want to do is steal, injure, and enslave pokemon, then that my friend, is true evil in my opinion.
