Most violent thing you've seen in a manga or anime

I usually avoid gory anime, since it's not my kind of thing.
There was one scene in Rurouni Kenshin that grosed me out, really. And it keeps doing that (I've seen it twice now, it might continue doing that).

One of the characters, Makoto Shishio upholds the believe of "If you're strong, you'll live. If you're weak, you'll die and become food for the strong". He takes it quite litterally during his fight with Kenshin.
He actualy bites Kenshin in his shoulder and tears a bit of his flesh. URGH! The thought alone makes me shiver.
I can stand swords slashing and blood flooding in that anime, but I can't stand that scene....

Usually I'm sensitive to gore. I don't mind Blood+, strangely. It's supposed to be gory.

There was this anime, on the other hand, which made me wanna change the channel when the episodes aired. It was about some woman who had a sword with some words on it, and then there were demons, and the story was set in a monarchy time, where women wore royal dresses.

Watching the commercial scared me.

a persion having there head cut off blood and every thing going ever were and the persion that did it licking the blood off there fingers.

Higurashi and Elfen Leid are both beautifully gorey.
Well, there is a scene in Higurashi when Rika stabs herself to death. (There were sound effects >_>) And when Rena beats some chick to death with a pipe and hides her body in a fridge. Yeah. Awesome stuff.

Sadly, the part that made me the queasiest was the machine Shion had to use to rip her fingernails out. >_< I also remember feeling really antsy when she was threatening to drive nails through the joints in Keiichi's fingers. aaah now my fingers hurt just thinking about it. D:

Urrgh, I realize that the creators were serious about that scene. Funny how he says"I'm so f**ked up" after doing it. At least he knows it.

I presonally think that most manga version of the anime is more bloodier.

In Shaman King, Faust VIII opens up Yoh's sidekick's stomach open up to see why he's so little. It was really sad and horrific. Elfen Lied is just full of decapitated heads.

Elfin Leid - Who doesn't like a multiple personalitied Diclonius? O_o I love this, Lucy is just epic in every way, and there IS A STORYLINE, which I find quite touching, although the ending made me a tad bit angry. I hate cliffhanger/up to the watcher endings. XD

The anime was finished before the manga, hence the ending not being canon. Chief Kakuzawa and Kurama don't die and Lucy lives on with Kōta after having lost her horns (and thus vectors).

Probably most violent would be Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, be it with Satoko at the end, or the part with Shion getting her nails torn off.... Or when the Teppei guy's head got split in half with a machete...?
And then DOGS, when Haine bites the face off of some gangster. Actually DOGS is just one big shoot-out after the next, but while it's definitely violent, it's not impacting. Just a bunch of dead people and holes in your anti-hero and you're good to go, I suppose.

The only gorey manga I'v ever read was Bleach, and the gorey scenes are ridiculous.

Hmm...I don't recall really gory scenes, but:

1. In the manga of Naruto, when Kakashi Hatake performed Chidori (Raikiri if you call it that) and thrust his hands straight into Haku's heart, when he intended to kill Zabuza Momochi instead. This scene was essentially in the anime as well, but it was edited to a certain degree.

2. In the Naruto manga again, when Shino Aburame was fighting Zaku. (one of those 3 Sound Ninja that fought Sakura and encountered Sasuke when the curse mark first activated) Shino sent bugs to infest Zaku's "wind system". Zaku had openings in his hands which could send out powerful bursts of sound waves, I think. Anyway, the bugs clogged the system and Zaku didn't notice. He tried blasting sound waves again, but instead the force built up inside one of his arms and blew his arm off. In the anime, Zaku's arm remained connected, but it was heavily damaged due to internal buildup of the sound waves.

3. In One Piece, IIRC, Zolo sustained serious wounds when he first fought that "Mihawk" swordsman. Also, there was one scene where he said "Nothing. Nothing at all," (I think that's the quote, I'm not sure) and was shown covered in blood with various major injuries. Featured in both anime and manga.
