When do you think one should do this? When did you? (if you have already) and If you have already, do you feel you made the right choice?
I don't think I'll move out for awhile. I don't see much of a point when I don't argue with my parents or feel like I've got a reason to. I think the only reason I, personally, would move and get my own place is when I'm financially stable and not forced to work tons of hours to barely make the rent, or when I've got someone I want to live with and start something with them (or just a room mate).
I think I'd regret moving out right now. I've got no cash, I've got no where decent to move to (this town is horrible), and I only have to pay for my gas, car payments and dinner sometimes, so why not stay and keep raking in the cash? :)
I don't see much of a point in doing it soon either.
My parents and I get along. I am going to go to college right after high school, and the college is near by so I don't need to move closer. And I get free food. All I have to do is pay 100 dollars a month when I graduate from high school, which is better than any other apartment..:3
So..after 4 years of college? Maybe sometime during college?
18 is actually a common age to move out, believe it or not. Most people begin college around 18 and live in dorms and such. Living away from home during college is good training for when you are really on your own.
I haven't "moved out" so much as I've been functionally abandoned by my parents...long story, don't ask...and I hate it.
I can't advise being on your own before you're prepared to anyone. I'm far from being financially stable. All my money goes to rent and fast food, leaving no money for finishing school. D:
Ugh...Bringing it up then casting it aside...Now I'm curious, but without knowing specifics I can only attempt to understand why it will stay hidden.
I only brought it up to illustrate that it wasn't by my choice that I'm currently independent and to suggest that my opinions may in fact be somewhat more cynical than those of others who've already moved out. XD
My relationship with my parents isn't nearly as cold as the wording in my first post suggests. In fact, I'm closer to them than anyone else I know. If you really wanna know some details, feel free to VM/PM me. XD
I'm 19 and living at home while I'm in college, I've noticed that I've done more things to manange the house, than what I used to do in the past (before finishing high school). I don't pay rent, so I want to look like I'm pulling my own weight around the place. I think I'll actually want to move out around 21, when I'll likely begin partying more openly.
