As children, most of us probably saw balloons often, whether in advertisements, television, parties and well, pretty much anything that was seen to be "happy", or at a special occasion. A lot of you were probably intrigued by balloons because of their varying colours, shape and associations to happiness/fun.

Now we're older, do balloons still have the same happiness connotation as they did then? Do you find yourself still smiling when you see a balloon being blown up, or a child holding a balloon (the latter implies that it brings back memories). Do you think the effects of balloons (and other items such as these associated with childhood happiness, such as clowns, etc) will wear off as we grow even older?

I waaaas planning on making this longer but then it might touch on areas of another thread so I'll just leave it simplistic.

I've always loved balloons and always will. They give me the same gleeful feeling they did when I was a little girl. Lol, when one pops I still feel sad about it, even. It kind of goes without saying that Drifloon is my favorite ghost-type and one of my favorites in general. You can't get much cuter than the soul of a balloon X3

Kids just wanna hold the balloons, I wanna do **** with them. I like to inhale the helium balloons, pretend some balloons are Drifloons...

And best of all, use Pin Missile on the Drifloons, if you know what I mean ;D

    I love balloons :D
That is what I would say if I were a bit younger. But balloons still put a smile on my face when I see children playing with them and I also interrupt them sometimes ;3

I still use ballons nowadays as a target for airsoft guns. It's like pin missile the drifloons, as AdvancedK47 said :D

And best of all, use Pin Missile on the Drifloons, if you know what I mean ;D

...makes me wonder just how Drifloon can be 4x resistant to such an attack. :o

I learned how to make certain balloon animals a couple years back, so I like to make some whenever I have access to the elongated balloons. But other than that, balloons hold little joy for meh. D:

I Have Never Really Thought Of A Balloon To Be HappyNess I Normally Used To Just Seeing Them At Party's,Events And Such.

So I Really Could Not say If Age Changes How I Feel...If I Never Had A Feeling For Them.

I've always liked balloons. As a kid and now. But nowadays, I like to blow them up, then release the air, so they go zooming around the room.

The only effect a balloon has on me is when, on the rare occasion, that I pop it and suck in the helium and make fun of how I sound. Apart from that, I can't say they have any effects on me.

I'm sorry to say, I can't stand balloons.

The sound of it's rubber rubbing against something gives me the shivers.

Not that I'm afaraid of the balloon itself, it's the sound it make's that I hate.

And I hate when it pops, how ear piercing it is.

So I try to stay away from any balloons in the hands of someone I knowcna't be responsible for it.

I wouldn't say they make me happy or anything, just remind me of kids and my childhood, sometimes. And, they're fun to kick around and keep in the air, sometimes.

Although I always feel sorry for the kids, when I see they had a balloon from one of the restaurants in the mall, and then let it go, and it's now floating on the ceiling. I bet they were really sad. :(

I know I was fascinated with a balloon. I would get one if I ever had the chance. I remember going to a restaurant (IHOP, I think it was) and they would give little kids free balloons (most of the time). I would be very disappointed if they did not give me one, but I would never ask my parents for one because I was too shy to ask for anything.

I don't really care about them that much anymore. I like red balloons and anything else that's red, but the only thing I would do with a balloon is pop them just to be obnoxious. Well, I don't think I would do that either. I would actually find that very irritating. I suppose it would depend on what mood I was in.

Mummys can't give away balloons :O

Balloons have never had an effect on my childhood. I occassionally like blowing them up and releasing them so I can watch it fly crazily around the room. And I love pooping balloons because its fun as well. Oh and I just LOVE watching helium balloons float off into the sky. It makes me wonder if they actually make it outside the stratosphere :O.

Other than those things I have the slight fondness for balloons really :[

Balloons are cute, I especially love Blue ones :D
And I always like to "play" with it and send it up in the air and then hit it again, and again and again....But I don't like it when I blow one up and it explodes on my face xD

I don't like carrying balloons around and never really have. They make your hair build up static, crowd up the car and you can't see to back out, and I don't like them to pop. Just never cared for them, really. Except the special foil balloons you'd get to keep on your birthday and no one else had one like it. :)

I know exactly what you mean, when your a kid everything kind of seams more magical. But unfortunately it starts to wear off as you grow older. :(

the most prominent memory memory i associate balloons with is from my friend's birthday. he has an irrational dread of the noise a balloon makes when it pops, and the morning of his birthday me and some friends lured him into meeting us for breakfast while we snuck into the back of his car with a trashbag full of blown up balloons and a couple steak knives. happy birthday, pal. other than that, no nostalgic feelins r nuthin, but they're cute lil party favors n all that.
