I passed this off as an Internet craze as well. Morely indifferent of it, I didn't pay attention to MLP:FiM until my curiosity got the better of me and I started watching episodes of it.

Mine would have to be Ziggy Stardust's/Cappuccino's, both side ponies.

Orion is my favorite constellation, and to see him on a pony cemented that pony into a favorite of mine. I hope Orion the pony makes a return somehow in the show, especially since Twilight Sparkle also likes Orion the constellation.

Rainbow Dash's is my fave. But I saw a fan-made cutie mark for Spitfire and I have to say the idea for Spitfire's cutie mark is awesome!

I've seen pictures of the old generations of My Little Pony...and they...disturb me. *shudders*

They just so much more appealing, sleeker and brighter in Gen 4.

I like the unique, stylized look of this generation more than the past ones too. I do like the basic G1 designs, though.

Gen I designs are rather basic. But Lauren Faust's character designs are so much better then Gen 3/3.5.

That was so terrible, I don't even-

Rainbow Dash by far had the extremist makeover of any pony that existed going from Gen 3/3.5 to Gen 4. She was basically the Gen 3/3.5 version of the Gen 4 Rarity. They also turned her from a land pony, to a super-fast pegasus, making her name make much more sense. They also changed her attitude from "always dressing in style" to "20% cooler".

Gen 4 Rainbow Dash runs circles around the older version of herself.

I've only seen pictures of the older generations of My Little Pony. Lucky I haven't seen any videos. I don't think I'd be able to handle that...

The old MLP series just screamed stereotyping. Whereas in the current series, there is no stereotyping, and that the show could easily be enjoyed by both guys and girls.
