For those of you who care about IVs (I just started, it was about time since Blue lol), you have probably talked to the IV rater in the Battle Subway. Did he make you sad by saying your Pokemon were average, average and average? Or were you lucky? I thought my team was strong, but no, it's as weak as it could get :P! Oh well.

Honestly, IV's don't matter to me during the game play-through since they don't directly affect your play-through as they would in Competitive Battling along with EV's. I just try to enjoy the game as much as possible, same thing happens with the natures, I don't care what nature my Pokémon is.

It is nice when your Pokémon has a beneficial nature, and above average IV's but it rarely happens during my play-throughs.

ivs doesnt matter in game they are for battle purposes like evs and strategies dont mind with that you wont even finish the game with 1 single pokemon at lvl 100...

I don't really care about the IV's and EV's and such when it comes to in-game battles (except of course for the battle subway and battle institution). I only care about those complicated things when forming my team when it comes to competitive battling with other people, including with battling in battle subways and institutions.

Strangely, I care about IVs and natures in my in-game playthroughs. This meant that I tend to spend an eternity in one place trying to get a Pokemon with the IVs and nature that I want.

He told me all my Pokemon were 'decent all around', and I was quite chuffed with that. Then I looked up what that actually means and now I want to kick him in the face. He's a tool. :<

Although now I use him a lot for IV breeding, because I've actually started doing that recently.

IVs aren't that big of a deal to me compared to EVs and natures but lately I have been trying to hatch Pokemon with good IVs for future Wi-Fi play and the Battle Subway. I do have some Pokemon I love using who have bad IVs, but that doesn't make me want to stop using them or replace them with something better.

As for in-game, I don't care about IVs and just have fun with the team I have. Ironically one member on my in-game team though, my Cofagrigus, has 31 for special defense.

i always found these "EVs/IVs" a complicated distraction, i still don't get how they work! i raise my pokemon as they are and train them the best i can, natures don't really matter to me either

I don't play competitive battling so for my play through of White I did not care about IVs at all. I haven't checked them with the rater in the battle sub either. I might when I remember though, I have not checked any of my Pokémon's IVs yet :O

I don't care about EVs and IVs. I don't need them to crush trainers that I battle through Wi-Fi. And I never lose against them.

When I was breeding for Mienfoo, I found one that looked like it had the perfect IV set up from its level 1 stats and its characteristic. Then, I checked its Hidden Power and it turned out to be what I wanted it to be. When I talked to the stats judge and he told me my Mienfoo's stats were only above average, I was just about to go back and continue with what I was doing. Then he told me I had perfect IVs in Attack, Sp. Attack, and Speed. And it was not Outstanding or Relatively Superior, only above average. I still kept it anyway since its Hidden Power was absolutely perfect and defense doesn't matter on this guy, but still, above average.
