Sorry i havnt been here in a while, How do you change your name? if its a thread where is it?

You can't. They stopped name changes indefinitely a while back.

Yes, it's been said here.

You're lucky because you're relatively new. Other members who did this after the final name changes had a reputation of sorts, but still made a new account.

Changing a name caused a really huge stress on the database. Just one name could cause a great damage, so we scrapped the name change system until we find a way to prevent it, which... is not really likely to happen any soon, so if you really want a new name, just create a new account and use it D:

I looked at the old threads and it said that it was creating problems for the server.


I'm guessing that it takes a heavy toll on the server each time someone changes their Username.

It does take a huge toll. Okay, picture this. Someone with about 2,000 posts, and many others in threads that don't add on to your post count (like in Other Trivia, Wi-Fi, etc) Each time you change a name, EVERY post has to change as well, along with other possible items, such as VMs (which is probably more then your posts) blog entries or group comments, etc. And that's only one person. Around 15 (I think) want a name change everyday. Multiply all that together, and you have chaos. It's to much for the server to handle. So, it crashes.


As for new names, only way is a new account, which would suck for older members, but it is the only way. Or, get used to the name you have. Nothing more.
